@@MichaelRachal i appreciate the honest complement lol. The awkwardness is nearly a staple of the channel so I’m not sure if I will ever get rid of it lol. NVG30 is still worth it! I hope you enjoy
@@garrettferrell6821 personally I would keep on saving in for that PVS14 then buy this after. If analog is in the picture, it’s pretty much always going to be a better investment.
Check out this video I made on bridging analog and digital: Bringing color to analog night vision: NVG30 and Analog ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-67W4hK1-Qyk.html it’s pretty neat
Great review man, i got impatient with waiting for them to come back in stock so I bought an Amazon one. Hopefully they work as good. 😅 it was a little cheaper
It would be nice if they made a version without the color filter, my understanding is that the color filter halves the light input. Don't know how easy it would be for them to do, but it would make digital NV more competitive with analog.
I have heard that from some digital “experts” aswell. I like the color option, but if a black and white version preformed that much better I would love to have the choice
This is what I have to have say about the NVG 30 myself owning it for about nearly 6 months now I really wish that I can get a firmware update because I noticed there’s quite a few bugs with the firmware update that I have. I have even asked the companybinoc for firmware update and of course I got nothing. Seriously the devices, firmware or programming is holding it back from its full potential because I noticed it does this unnecessary filtration and dolls out a lot and light when it doesn’t need to.
Thanks man for the review I just bought mine and needed some affirmation lol. Is this something you would consider for one of the best NVG under $1,000? I couldn’t really find much on anything between this and the PVS-14.
@@user-hg6hx2nn4b as a complete unit, no. My recommendation would be to look for a used gen3 analog tube for around 800-1k and then save for a housing for another 750. That’s best preformance to cost for analog right now
Great upload mate. Watched to the end. Unsolicited advice from an old man - back yourself brother. You are young, smart and the world is your oyster. Oh and how about a review of a sotac IR light? Less engineering than a IR laser.
Thank you so much! these are my favorite comments to get they mean a lot. I have been very lucky to have this opportunity and recently I have been using it to make some pretty great connections. I have some budget IR laser and light stuff coming down the pipeline soon, sadly none of it is Sotac.
@extrudedshoots great to hear mate. Keep at it, and those opportunities will keep coming up. Looking forward to more budget IR stuff. Will keep my eyes peeled!
....I just got a NVG30 and I'm gonna get another one with the Wilcox mount. It's pretty good. Not optimal for passive aiming, even through an Eotech exps3. At some point I may get analog
The more and more people comment the more interested i get in bridging another NVG30. I have bridged the NVG30 with an analog device and i loved it. If you have the chance for analog, do it, its amazing. Analog can be bought for around 1.5-1.9k right now if you look around hard enough
I was going to get the NVG30 but wanted more, so got a M250HD. I got mine for under $900 AUD via US Amazon shipped, I looked at the Amazon add the other day and the price including shipping is now over 2000k, so glad I got mine at the price I paid for it as it is an amazing can all do sight. The reason I prefer the M250HD as it is a weapon sight as well, although I use it mainly mounted with the same mount you use on a helmet. Are you the young man that goes out doing public filming with iiMPCT MEDIA?
I got offered a free M250HD for a review, but I turned it down just due to timing. I am curious about them, how is the preformance? Also, I have never worked for iimpct media I have only worked for my own channel.
@@extrudedshoots The M250H works really well on my helmet, although I had to mod a bracket for it, 20 min work or so. It is very clear picture wise, and works very well without IR, hard to say if it is any better picture wise as others, but where it stands out vs others, it has a crosshair, so using it as a weapon sight makes it a more usable sight then others, and it was the main reason I bought it. It records as well although I have not used that function, and probably never will. Iimpct Media do audits of government buildings, entertaining to say the least seeing so many Karen's spit the dummy, one of the young guys speak like you, looks like you, hence I asked.
i would love to see u dual bridge these with the wilcox mount. i dual bridge mine and bought the normal dual mount and it is shit in my opinion. the wilcox mount works well for me tho
I am personally not to interested in dual digital just due to cost, but if enough people ask me to look into it I will try! The Wilcox bridge seems very useful not just for nvg30s
Ordered one a few months ago, mounted it to a helmet and have been slaying pigs/coyotes at night with it and ir laser! Good stuff for the price for sure. Is there a way to totally shut off the IR? So far all I've seen is Auto and 3 other settings of brightness
@@Operator5.56 if ur going max budget for ear pro go for walkers razor but if ur willing to splurge a bit more try to find a nice second hand set of peltor comtacs. thats what i did
I purchased the new Firefox 6 months ago. I watched a RU-vid video that said it was pretty good. It's absolutely horrible. DNV has a long way to go to catch up to regular ANV
@@brianredban9393 oh that is for sure. The Firefox seems to be exceptionally horrible from what I have heard. I think the reason that I like the NVG30 is because it doesn’t suck as much as other night vision and actually performs like its price
I only ask because I know it's kind of hard to tell by watching how this unit works on a video, but I don't want to drop 300-500 and have something I can't use to shoot at night
