Having a problem installing the latest Nvidia or AMD drivers? Getting a black screen or error message like Nvidia Installer Failed or something similar on your Windows 10 installation?
The answer is actually a really logical one. It is very likely you have a driver or registry error that is preventing the installer doing its job.
The simple fix is to remove all traces of the existing driver or drivers and start again. But if only it was that simple. Modern hardware relies heavily on the software and drivers to make the most of the silicon it is made from. So the software has its hooks in many different aspects of the operating system. So long answer shorter, it isn't very easy to totally remove all traces of the driver.
Well, that is where DDU or Display Driver Uninstaller comes in.

Hey I came back afted fixing my problem: I had the problem with " you dont have the newest driver update on Geforce Experience". So my problem was that i didnt attach my HDMI cable with the Graphicscard, I had it with the Mainboard. So Change it and look again.

Windows Key < msconfig < boot < safe boot < apply This gets you to Safe Mode much quicker and more user-friendly.

Thanks Mike! Followed these steps with a GTX1070ti + Windows 10 and worked successfully. I think you hit the nail on the head with Windows Update trying to 'be helpful' by sourcing the drivers for me when I dropped in a new shiny card, especially as it was a fresh build. Whatever Windows Update "tried" to install, was incorrect and has now caused problems down the line. By completely cleaning these out with your link and doing a fresh driver install, it has now cleared my problem!

In some circumstances if the installer continually fails it is sometimes necessary 2 do a repair installation of Windows but obviously that isn't the easiest or quickest way of resolving the problem but is definitely an option

To anyone out there that is still not getting the fix. This is what you have to confirm: If you installed windows and watched it go through updates before installing the graphics card, this will corrupt the update settings. You can see updater say Fatal Error graphics card drivers. Windows will still finish installing. This happening means you have to back up your windows before your updates, make sure card is properly installed, then do geforce before updating windows. The People that this works for, are doing a simple upgrade from either switching the gpu or just getting a bad update release that has to be forced with ddu. DDU will not fix the broken windows files. Only redoing windows will fix this. If this doesn't work please comment me, lets actually address these issues... not just "like" peoples comments.

This is true the DDU will only remove the traces of the install for the cards. If windows is borked you will need to fix the installer files first or update windows then try reinstalling the GPU drivers

Mike please help, when I get to the option at 3:25, I go to hit 4 and I see my keyboard is turned off. I try to unplug and replug but it won’t turn on. After approx. 30 seconds or so, my pc powers down. When I turn it back on, the Ddu notifies me that I’m not in safe mode.

do you have an old PS2 connector keyboard anywhere? That would get you into the bios or allow you to press 4. Also try plugging in the keyboard into a different USB port that isn't blue or USB3

I’ve done everything in this video. I even had this done and worked months ago BUT now it never wants to install. I’ve tried every version I could and end up with the same results “NVIDIA INSTALLER FAILED” every freaking time. Idk what to do at this point.

Not sure if a combination of the following or just one of them helped but I did these steps: Tried downloading nvidia driver (failed) Restart my computer and tried reinstalling (failed) Updated windows 10 and cleared my history, temp files, and cache using ccleaner (failed) Followed this video safe mode, DDU, etc. (failed) Downloaded another (slightly older) version of the nvidia driver (failed) *Now this is probably where I was getting issues* I realized I had installed Nvidia Studio Drivers instead of game ready drivers. I downloaded the newest version of nvidia game ready driver and it worked.

I have an error code 43 on my GTX 1050 ti. For the first like 20 tries I got this problem and it always said that my win is BS, now with this method it let me install the driver but the error still there.

@@mikesunboxing deffinatly, my nvidia graphics driver would not update and would go into a black screen through the intallation and restart my pc, before the install would complete. This helped and it did the normal screen flickering and requested the restart instead of doing what it did.

I have another problem. I get this thing called Code 43 when I check my gpu on device manager, I can install the latest driver and it actually reboots my laptop but when I check Geforce experience it's not actually installed... Considering that there is a certain bug with nvidia cards after reinstalling Windows 10, this is definitely NOT fixing 99% of all the problems. Besides, this is just using DDU while doing safe mode, not exactly a strike of genius. Knowing this "fix" for over a decade myself...waste of time

None of the methods worked, but what worked for me was first shut down ur Pc, then unplug all the ports from the Pc except for the power cable , then hold the starting button for a minute, after ur PC had shutdown take out the Graphics card and reseat it back in and finally turn ur Pc on and check for windows update, update windows and install the driver from NVIDA. Hope this works for YALL !

Good quality video, and it also worked. A lot of effort must have gone into recording the screen with a camera and then editing everything in order. Thank you so much for saving me half a days worth of headache.

Followed all the steps up until installation, everything was going fine, now half way through installation the screen has gone black. Edit: screen came back. No geforce experience installed. Tried to install again: error code 0x0003. Fml

Can you use safemode? Press reset three times and it should automatically boot to safemode after a few failed attempts

@@mikesunboxingto I have created a Discord login cred but unfortunately I have run into an issue with verifying my acct, now says my password and/or username is invalid, even though I wrote the info down when I created it and also is saved in my password manager. I have enough issues to deal with and do not have the patience for this bs right now. is there any other way of communication to hopefully get this driver issue handled?
