After 6 hours of googling and digging for a solution for the exact same problem. I reached your video. Thank you sir! Everything is okay now apart from my partially bald head.
P.S: Prior to following the steps in your video I had used DDU to uninstall all the nvidia related files and drivers which sat me back to point zero where I had microsoft basic driver as the main gpu. I think adding this step to your tutorial might be helpful to people who are still failing after following the steps in the video. Because while I'm searching for a solution some sources were saying that the "failed installation" error could happen because of conflict with old nvidia files. I'm no expert but I just thought I'd share this. Thanks again!
That's good advice. I can't really suggest that though because I can't replicate that issue. I wonder if doing ddu and then straight up installing the driver would have worked in your case? I would implore you to backup your system, revert it to that "failed" state, and then make a video about that from start to finish without skipping any steps. I'd link to it!
Doing DDU and then straight up installing the driver didn't work for me, I kept having the same errors. This is actually the order of how I did things.(I'm on windows 10 64 bit) 1. DDU>Install driver>Fail(not compatible) 2.DDU*>Modify inf files>Install driver> Failed installation 3. DDU*>Modify inf files*>Disable driver signature verification>Install driver>Success So really your instructions are the main problem solvers here. But doing DDU is never a bad thing anyway I imagine, it allows for a 100% clean installation. Not sure about making a video never done it before.
That's good stuff. I'll see what I can do. I started to think that may help in the two thousand or so comments I've seen... you're definitely more perceptive than most. Good work and good details/methodology! Oh, and as luck would have it, YT just made it so you can pin comments. I just saw this today. What a perfect coincidence because this is the best comment in all of these comments! DDU: www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Thank you! A little update; A new driver was released a couple days back and I tried to straight up install it but it didnt work, I had to redo everything step by step and I'm assuming I'm going to do that for each new driver. And there is something that came up with this proccess, I've never experienced "blue screen of death" before on this pc but ever since I've been updating my drivers like this it's been randomly happening to me, it's not very often but it happens. It happened once while I was playing a game like "salt and sanctuary" which is a 2-D game and has very low requirements from the system. It happens while I'm playing BF1; Sometimes right at the starting menu and sometimes an hour later but not everytime and not everyday (like I said, random). I have no idea how to deal with this. It might be that I hadn't updated my driver yet ( the newer one). But I just did that 10 minutes ago and I'll update here if I experience the blue screen again!
guys who cant find the nvidia folder i have an way when you start the dowload the file start getting downloaded in your c drive just move the folder from there and place it in your desktop and its done just after finshing the transfer cancle the nvidia download
**FIX** Not working for me anymore. Already did this 2 times in previous versions and worked. Yesterday i tried to update it and its not working dunno why. Geforce Experience will not detect new drivers, you have to check it for yourself. But i managed to update the drivers easier than this method. Go to Device Manager, right click on your Graphic Card and "Update Driver Software", then select "Browse my computer for driver software" then choose the driver folder location. Just wait to finish and its done. P.S... The installation will be trough windows menu and not the nvidia driver menu. On a clean instalation i dont know if installs all the nvidia utilities like GF Experience, but is a good way to update the drivers =)
For everyone that uninstalled their drivers or GPU go to your system settings and click or type in search restore system ! I did this on my windows 10 and they restored the Nvidia card I uninstalled.
Ok, I think I have the necessity to lend a hand by telling how I fixed this problem. Let's start: -The problem: Windows 10 wouldn't recognize my GTX 1080ti after a clean install, no matter what I tried. In device manager it showed "Basic Microsoft Display Device" where should be GTX 1080ti. -What is causing this?: The version of Windows 10 you are using is outdated, and the newest GPUs are not recognized (most likely GTX10 series). Don't panic try to relax. I spent a lot of time trying to fix this and I came up with an easy solution. -How to solve this problem: 1)You are going to attempt to update by writing "update" in the Cortana search box. 2)Click "Check updates", download them, restart, and install them. 3)Now you are going to type in google "Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant" OR go to this link: www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10. It is an official Microsoft program. 4)Download it, install it, running, update it again. It will take some time. 5)Once it is done it should restart automatically, and the resolution should upscale to your native monitor resolution, it means your graphics card is recognized, and now you can install the drivers. PD: I think my problem was different from the one in this video, but it is a very simple solution that worked for me.
I just built a new win10 PC with 960gtx. Used a Win10 copy purchased from ebay, which was probably old. It's been awhile since I've done a PC build but I always leave the network unplugged and install vidcard drivers first. Got the same problem, "X Nvidia installer...failed". Luckily, all it required was to run Windows update and after waiting .....long restart......Win10 booted up and vidcard drivers installed. Checked device manager and 960gtx was there. Thankyou!!
GUYS THERE IS A SOLUTION WHO CAN'T SEE THEIR NVIDIA GPU ( I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE AND NO ONE WRITES THE SOLUTION SO THERE YOU GO): 1-RESTART YOUR COMPUTER GO INTO BIOS ( SEARCH FOR HOW TO ENABLE BIOS MODE) 2- PRESS F9 AND AFTER THAT PRESS F10, THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER 3- GO INTO DEVICES AND CLICK VIEW, PRESS SHOW HIDDEN DEVICES 4- LOOK DOWN BELOW, YOU WILL SEE OTHER DEVICES, CLICK ON THAT AND YOU WILL SEE A DEVICE THAT HAS YELLOW EXCLAMATION MARK ON IT. 5- THIS IS YOUR NVIDIA DEVICE NOW YOU CAN FOLLOW THE VIDEO TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.
*UPDATED SOLUTION November 2018* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - First of all, after the error dont close the nvidia window or the nvidia folder will be deleted! Copy the folder to other location THEN close the installation window. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - I guess editing any INF files is not working anymore, you must edit the INF of your manufacture! > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - First, YOU MUST edit the exact same way like in this video, BUT in your manufactuer INF file! Remember to save all the lines you edited to the next step! Then you do the next steps! *One more thing, when you edition a section like for exemple Section=050 and if ID appears again in a 050 section YOU DONT NEED to edit. Editing 1 time per section is enough!* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Again on your manufacture INF search for [Manufacturer], bellow you will find a line with some windows version/compilation. The problem happens because nvidia is not adding the recent compilations. Looks like this: %NVIDIA_A%=NVIDIA_Devices,NTamd64.10.0,NTamd64.10.0...14310,NTamd64.10.0,NTamd64.10.0...16299 Just add your compilation with this at the end ",NTamd64.10.0,NTamd64.10.0...XXXXX" in my case XXXXX= 17763 After adding will look like this: %NVIDIA_A%=NVIDIA_Devices,NTamd64.10.0,NTamd64.10.0...14310,NTamd64.10.0,NTamd64.10.0...16299,NTamd64.10.0,NTamd64.10.0...17763 *You if dont know how to check your version Settings->System-> About, u will see OS Compilation!* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - All the section lines you edit in this video are below a compilation group and looks like this: [NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0...XXXXX] %NVIDIA_DEV. etc etc etc %NVIDIA_DEV. etc etc etc %NVIDIA_DEV. etc etc etc %NVIDIA_DEV. etc etc etc Just create a group for *with your current compilation* like in my case (17763): [NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0...17763] and paste bellow all the section lines you edited that i told you to save for later. I advise you to save in a notepad the compilation group you created with the lines for future updares! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - *I advise you to block windows update from updating nvidia drivers, it will install older drivers if you not block! Just search google for "blocking driver update by ID with group policy", in my case is the first link from howtogeek website.* Happy driver updates!
@@salahaly8151 forum.zwame.pt/threads/tutorial-este-controlador-grafico-nao-encontrou-hardware-de-graficos-compativel.1024847/ I made this tutorial, it is in portuguese but you can use the google function to translate to your language. HELP!!! when i try to run the setup again, it says "windows cannot access the specified devixe, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them"
thank you so much, after 3 days straight troubleshooting nothing worked until i found this, really appreciate it. although, it’s been installing for about 30 minutes now.. is that normal?
In my case solution was: Replace Drivers Hive Manually Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own. 1. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop. 2. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract. 3. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one. 4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config 5. Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad. Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again. Take the file from the Drivers folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config Reboot and retry updating the drivers again. Guys after i fucked my system because i am an idiot, trying to install one new nvidia driver doing windows update and defraging one of my hdd all at the same time , my primary monitor got black, my rtx2060 was full vanished from my system, also feelling my system running so slow and most important is tha i couldnt do anything to get this installed because data is invalid (safe mode, manually install still failling DDU not helped closing of 22h of trying with no hope, FINALLY get this done....thanks so much sir you actually killed it and helped me at 9:03 1.You need tha amazing www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html 2.Open this baby and press reboot to safe mode 3.Once you in safe mode press all repairs and press start repairs (that baby is doing tons of repairs on entire system) 4.Once you in from restart, try to install it, but for me this shit was still failling because of this driver signature enforcement! two ways to close this shit first way at 9:53 and second open cmd ''bcdedit /set testsigning on'' then restart and install this shit ! dont forget after cmd again ''bcdedit /set testsigning off''
Followed with your tutorial, but half way through the installation, after pressing install driver anyway the screen goes black and the driver never finishes installing. After a whole night of letting it run it still didnt finish, so i restarted the computer and the display was only running in 800x600 resolution so i let windows update the driver through device manager just so i can use my pc in normaln resolution. Any ideas how to fix the black screen?
Just looked through the comments, it said to run ddu before following with your video, so i did it. The driver installation followed without any problems, but at the end after the driver installation finished, and me restarting the pc it still didnt update and my screen resolution remained at 800×600
I went back to this comment when I finally got it to start installing because I knew that I would be in the 10%. My laptop has taught me so much about PC's in the worst ways. At least I still have teeth to pull now that my hair is gone. Oh, looky I'm in the 10% club.
Guys this works for me 1. Unistall all nvdia software 2. Download and Install GeForce Experience app from the oficial website 3. Log In 4. Install latest driver. 5. Done
appreciate! the best guide! thank you SIR! But.... i have another problem: i try to start NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL and see this error: *upd*: just put in hdmi in my netbook and control panel has opened :)
Im getting closer but no success. Modifying the inf files gets me from "installation can not continue" to "installation failed". Then when i restart the computer with digital signing off the installation does complete but it is not installing the correct driver. It says Geforce 840m in my device manager and I am using a 3080. I have added the custom string and everything. I have like 4 hairs left on my head right now.
Try copying the files to another location while the installer is running. Closing the installer will remove them. Pay close attention to the order of steps. It does work.
2020 and this still works! I stupidly forgot to keep watching past 9:00 two days ago though, and wasted a lot of time looking for the answer when it was here all along. I am commenting to help myself remember lol, when inevitably a Windows update causes this same failure of the driver in the future. Thanks so much!!!
Sir when i extract the driver and get the error of the installing when i click close to exit it do as your video said, the folder of the setup disappears ... any idea on how i leave it there ?
I checked all of the INF files in the display driver using the VEN code, and I found 8 INF files that contain my exact hardware ID. However, none of them have the grouping mentioned in the video. Instead, each section has a single line, whereas the section in the video contains 8-9 lines. I’m confused-do I need to write out every section? Also, there are INF files with a larger number of sections and others with fewer sections, so I’m not sure which file to work on or what to do with the sections."
If you have the second problem and this is not helping. Then try safe mode it will really help u. If then also you are not able to install it then first use DDU and then safe mode
I'm so grateful , you can't even imagine. It's been roughly 2 months that i tried everything i could. You just saved my computer , my art studies , I'm not joking i could cry right now ! XD I'm sending all my gratitude to you mister , cheers from France ! :) (I tried this on my Omen 15 , Rtx 3060 mobile , and now it's fucking working)
I salute you man, thanks alot, thank god you are the only one who helped me after 5 hours of trying to install driver only this method works, the only point is to edit a txt of setup every other videos just showing a wrong way of doing that. THANKS ALOT MAAAAN !
hi, I think it almost works for me because it's the furthest I've gotten trying to solve this problem, the thing is that now it doesn't give me the compatibility error but when I open the setup it shows me a box with the version of the NVIDIA file but the rest of the tab appears white and does not allow me to press any button to proceed with the installation, does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks
Hi everyone, can someone help me The code in my device manager icould not find the groping thing in all those files I have gt 730 (current driver version 391.35) And I tried on just one of them like (nvaci ) it worked but it won't work in the drive manger on display driver new one name is something crazy and I get cod 43 too
I just did a fresh windows 10 install and my NVIDIA folder is empty... Edit: I found a solution to this. Instead of using the latest drivers or anything released on the Nvidia site, I used the drivers that came in the disc with my GPU which were older drivers than what is listed on the Nvidia site. To be specific, in my case, I was trying to install my GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with the latest drivers (416.92), but instead used the drivers on disc to obtain the files in the Nvidia folder. The drivers on disc were 388.xx. Hope this helps anyone else out having this same issue.
Bro can you help me I don't really understand what you are saying so could you help me? step for step what you did to do I have the same graphic card as you
@@thomasboske1311 - Use the CD that came with your graphics card and attempt to install those drivers. You'll see the Nvidia folder appear with all the necessary files. Open the "Display.Driver" folder and find the nvaci.inf file. Open it and follow the instructions in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3UnRvtNegFc.html --- skip to around 6:06 or so and follow his instructions. 100% of people who will try this, will fall under the 10% of the people who will have the problem at 9:10 :) I have an old Geforce 6700XL (by MSI), in an old computer, that is not supported under Windows 10. As soon as I receive an SSD I have ordered, I am going to try this. Hey, it might just work :)
everything went well superbly but now the problem is at the end when i open my geforce experience they tell me to download it again and whem i download its all the same fuking problem please help
As I explain in the video, all updates have to be done this way because nvidia doesn't recognize your card. This whole hack is because your card isn't recognized for whatever reason. After you do this, it doesn't magically make future updates recognize your card. It's exactly what you described; your problem will persist as long as you have the unrecognized hardware in your system.
I've already follow your instruction until the end and work it. But after that my nvidia driver in device manager says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" and nothing nvidia control panel in the right click, so i can't use nvidia driver. Anyone have same problem? Please help -.-
I used to think That NVIDIA GRAPHICS DOES not Work Anymore. Trust me my Friend I have downloaded this nvidia graphics so many times experiencing same problem. But as soon as I landed at your channel, my Problem is solved. Thank for providing such an amazing content. You have my subscription n big like. I will share your channel my friends who are also doing gaming like me. Much respect from Kenya Africa. God you
After you got that error massage in installation app dont close it first make new folder on desktop an copy all files from C disk nvidia folder to that new folder on desktop than close the failed instalation , than your Nvidia folder in C disk will dissapear but you have that one on desktop so you can follow those steps in video
Upgraded a work colleagues kids computer to Windows 10. This issue popped up after one of his kids done a Windows 10 Update. Spent ages trying to figure it out and must say, this guide helped a LOT! One thing I will say is that this only wanted to work only if I had Driver Signature Enforcement turned off. Thanks man, his kids can enjoy their games, once again!
OMG, you are f. genious!!!! Thank you 100000000000000 times for this video. This helped me with my problem, specially the driver signiture at the end. If you ever come to Western Europe, i owe you six-pack of beer :-)
Ah thanks bro, really. This tutorial is detailed and straightforward, no craps like in other video. Straight to the point. Again thank you very much for this, you saved my computer. :))
Run windows in safe mode and Uninstall nvidia drivers. You're back to no drivers and can't update and will be stuck with no nvidia but the computer will boot.
Hi, I followed your step, and click the install anyway but I stuck on the installing graphics driver. The it failed. I don’t know why. Can you help me? Btw, I use the parallels desktop windows 10 on Mac.
Why?????? For step 8 everything was working and the windows security popped up but then my pc turned off by accident I tried again to do it but the window for install this driver software anyway and instead it just fail.
My nvidia geforce 1030 gt didnt get detected by windows but it appears in ny bios. Heres how i fixed it. Try restarting in bios mode and turn secure mode OFF. Then boot in legacy(csm). After it won't let you on your computer boot in bios again after switching back to euif mode Then try running device manager again. I did this and tadaaaa
Thank You i spent three days trying to update my drivers along with setting it to my windows as well but i have it working thank you kindly. really hurt my brain on trying to figure this out and you helped me xD Thank you Very Much.
i just finished installed it , but it change my graphic card from 820m to gt 650m. then when i want to open geforce experince, it was force close . then i open device manager and it says code 43 error. how to fix it ?
