Just gone over your whole channel and you obviously have the knowledge and ability to be so educational especially for starters looking to build a pc and actually understand wtf I’m doing. I want to see so many more videos with wayyyy better thumbnails from you, educational shit and fun build stuff and why you need more cores for relevant market targets like gaming while streaming and what’s needed for each and editing. Recommend some products. I like the channel I think it can be way more and you’re obviously intelligent, just thought I’d leave a comment and see what you do with it 👍 good luck dude
I have an SSD Sata with the 3 connector thing: - - - I wanna use it cuz it’s from my laptop and all files are on it including windows 10 pro. But can i even plug them into a NVME M.2?
I mentioned in the video these are different units converted over. I made this a while ago haha so I probably just rounded for simplicity sake to make nice even numbers. :P
One question, A lot of people say that if you go over a 256GB NVME then they get buggy compared to A larger SATA M2 PCIe say 1 TB, and you are better sticking with the SATA M2. Is this true? What are you thoughts cost vs performance.
Personally, I have never heard of this or experienced it. I think it's usually not worth it to get such a large nvme ssd. I have one just for my programs and OS. And normal sata ssds for storage and all other files.
I am building a new PC - MB Asus Maximus hero vii. This board has M.2 slots NVMe and SATA. I have installed NVMe M.2 (single notch) in my first MB PCI-E slot. However, I also have an NVMe, SATA M.2 drive (2 notches). Can I install this on the 3rd slot with a single notch, although the spare SATA M.2 has (2 notches)? This slot is close to SATA ports I think it will run at SATA speed.
I am trying to upgrade my laptop from sata 3 to M.2 pcie nvme ssd m key. Is there a compatible adapter that i can use to convert sata 3 to m.2 pcie nvme ssd? I look all over the internet and i canot find an adapter that is m.2 pcie nvme M key compatible. I am trying to upgrade to this specific M.2 pcie nvme ssd. SAMSUNG 980 PRO 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 Internal Gaming SSD M.2 (MZ-V8P1T0B)
In the case of a laptop I dont think its possible. Nvme drives use the pcie lanes to send data, a whole different standard than sata. And in a laptop you don't have traditional pcie slots like a desktop, everything is integrated together.
If nvme and sata m.2 can use the same flash memory, connect to the same place on a motherboard, then your saying the only difference is the literal connection type that dictates whether it uses the pcie lanes or not? If this is the case, why doesn't the m.2 sata enclosures work via USB, if the nvme is placed in it? I thought that sata and nvme spoke two different languages so to say not just a difference in connector types? Please explain if you know.
Also the key is different on the drives, sata drives will have 52 pins while Nvme have 76. All Nvme drives use the M-key style while sata m.2 drives can use either B-key or B+M key.
Hi max, i am about upgrade from a 1 tb hard drive to an ssd, I am thinking of installing an nvme drive with n nvme to sata adapter, do you know if it’s compatible or not ?
I've never seen or heard of an nvme to sata adapter. I would highly recommend against it as you would be stuck at the slow sata speeds and won't be able to take advantage of the super high speeds of nvme. If your motherboard doesn't have an nvme slot you can buy a pci-e card to add some
You can have 1, you can have both, all depends on your preference/setup. Some systems only have 1 ssd some have 1 hdd, personally I boot from an ssd and keep all my programs on that, but have a seperate 2TB harddrive I store files/games on.
yo if you expaned your vids to 10 min you whill get more recommandations just pool the topic longer and that should help i love you channel i just whant to help
