Richardson RFPD’s Danny Molezion heads out to NXP's RF lab in Arizona to join Jim Davies to demonstrate the ease of use moving from a 1250 W device to the 1800 W MRFX1K80H using the same PCB.
No retuning is needed for the 27 MHz board. Only five component changes are needed for the FM 87.5-108 MHz board.
View at 4:00 minutes to see the following:
C2: Replace 22pF with 33pF
C12: Remove
C13: Remove
C14: Replace 15pF with 12pF
L3: Replace with proper size detailed in the MRFX1K80H datasheet

Let me just say from the outset that I am a Senior Systems Engineer for Power Beaming and Radar Applications. After watching your video, why should I ever bother to design my own power circuits ever again? Just give you guys a call, you not only steer me away from the rattle snake, but also give me sound advice for extremely good efficiency in Power Beaming and Radar Applications. Cannot ask for more than that, I am duly impressed!

Does it also go down to 160M? Where can i get the board and is there a guide for tuning to 160M etc?

Is this filtered power or including all harmonics? What about linearity? What about the bias readjusting when changing from 1k2 to 1k8? There are lots of what about!

It'll be great when they develop a 150 volt power MOS. No power supply, just isolate the AC from the RF.

Note the lack of a response to both questions. I called the company. They are clueless. They don’t even seem to be aware of the products they produce.

We apologize for the delay. The Delrin mounting clamp for the NI-1230 is intended for lab evaluation purposes only. NXP is putting a process in place that will make it available for evaluation and prototyping. In the meantime, please contact us at RFIndustrial@nxp.com.
