Totally! The mids are what make the character and definition in your sound! Thought about an 8x10, but they are sealed, and since i tune down VERY low I would be pushing the speakers too hard. well happy with my Markbass cab though it's just got bags of everything, and I cut frequencies on my amp or pedals where I need to. The weight is just a bonus!

Fair play, that neo stuff is a real spine saver ;) Still, a lot of the Class D stuff is mega loud! I don't know how they cram so much beef into those tiny boxes but somehow they just work!

I used mine through an Ampeg SVT610HLF and it sounded absolutely amazing, but as soon as the guitarists started playing I got drowned out! :P

Low A. I've never had speakers fart out on me but I have battled with a severe drop in volume in the lower register. Ported boxes tend to push out more earth shaking lows, are more efficient, and have a much higher SPL. I love the sound of sealed cabinets but for my needs they just don't cut it, not in my expeirence anyway

They do have a great sound and their new lightweight stuff is pretty awesome too if you don't mind spending an extra wedge!:)

With regards to the power... You'd be surprised! and the neodymium cabs are mostly incredibly sensitive. However I do agree with you on the compoments being surface mounted... Repairs are not as easily done, often needing to be done by the manufacturer themselves, and can be more expensive. I can't see any other downsides though from my own experience :)

Never thought about that... Time will certainly tell! If mine lasts less than 10 years I promise I'll get something massive and heavy next time ;)

The cabs do take some getting used to to be fair. Much more midrange which can sound unpleasant but sounds great in the mix and helps cut through! :) IMO the cab sounds like a DI from the head into headphones so id a more true representation than most other cabs. I like to filter out the mids myself so that the sound i get out of my cab is the same I would get through the PA.

Dark??? Never heard that about a Markbass amp.. have you got the VLE and VPF filters all the way off (completely anticlockwise)? Many people have them in the middle thinking that is 'flat' and wonder why it sounds weird

The Ampeg cab scooped out a lot of my mids, and they're not that efficient either. I get a lot more volume out of my Markbass 4x10 and so many mids that to get the correct level i have to turn them DOWN :)

I bought this with the 15 in cab and it is too bassy and muddy. Think Im gonna return it and get the little mark solid state head with the 410

There's nothing I like about the sounds on this video. Don't how much is the bass, and how much is the rig, but I don't dig the dirt, gank, clatter, and buzz at all.
