This is a first impression review video of my new Markbass Combo 121 lite Alain Caron model Bass amplifier Excuse my congested voice, I'm getting over a cold. Hit me up with any comments and questions. Thanks for watching.
RH450 and EBS cab sounds like a great combination. I will do a review for Markbass Superbooster soon (which has the two filters and a clean boost), If you are just interested in the filters-the Superbooster pedal is a great option (It's a great DI box too). Hopefully These review will come out this month. As for EQ - I usually keep my amp flat unless there is a bad frequency in the room. and use the VLE to get rid of some finger/string noise or VPF for Marcus Miller style slap. Cheers from NC.
it's kinda overkill for bedroom levels but sounds amazing. the only thing that would bother me is the tweeter hiss, it's unnoticeable in gig situations but noticeable in a bedroom level.
Thank for this video and your thoughts! I plan on selling my tc RH450 and my EBS cab to buy this combo. I was looking for some sound. Would you be kind enough to record some more sound samples, exploring the EQ, VLE and VFL? Thanks man, cheers from France.
BTW, I recorded bass for this song using my Vigier Passion 5 - EBS MultyComp and Markbass Superbooster (VLE at 9-o'clock): Just replace (DOT) with an actual dot :) soundcloud (DOT) com/michael-tracy/fashion-fame-final-1
hi I have had this amp for about 5 years and I always noticed a hissing sound when it is on. This hiss is present even if I dont have any cables plugged in (except the power cable obviously). The hiss increases when turning up the Master knob. Can you tell me if it has been the same for you?
Hey, yes, I had a slight hiss, not noticeable at gigs but noticeable at home. this model is Bi-Amped, the amplifier for the horn is a bit hissy, and unfortunately there's no control to tame it.
Hi, Is there anyway to plug an amp head with a cab instead of the same combo? Ex: Streamline 900 Genz Benz with a 2x12" cab Uber bass, 2 of them run by the combo 121 lite. If not, can we put any combo of 500 watts with the 121 lite?? If someone you help me on that... Thank you!!!
Yes. It has a preamp out at the back so you can chain it with whatever amp you want. Also, If you want to use just the head portion of the combo (You would still have to carry the whole thing) you can disconnect the speakon cable in the back and have the head from the combo driving the other cab instead of it's own speaker.
Hi, thanks for the fast answers!! I probably getting mine on Monday!! Tired to lift up my 70 pounds cabs and the head and the pedalboard!!! 1 Combo and one Zoom MS-60B, you can do very good thing with the zoom for about 100$, fantastic way to downsized my rig!! If you want, I'll get back to you if I bought it with the zoom. Thanks again, ciao!!
I really just wanted to hear what the amp sounded like. I appreciate the info but at the end of the day, it's about the sound. I have no idea how you're a sponsored artist having said that.
This amp sounds very flat (plus some hiss from the twitter). Meaning it would sound like your bass through good studio monitors. not much below 50hz specially if it's not right in front of a wall (rear ported). The camera mic would not do it justice anyway, I need to get a nice condenser and edit those together. this video was more of a first impression. I am not sponsored or affiliated with markbass (just friends). BTW, more then a year has passed and this amp hasn't missed a beat. still my main amp and I rarely have to turn it more then half way.
Your feet stay warm, you don't have to take them off when you need to go outside, don't need to take them off when going in, socks don't wear that quick, when you bump into some furniture you won't get hurt as easily as without shoes, and there are many more reasons. But it comes down on own preference. Not that weird to keep your shoes on.
I'd rather stub my toe on a table every day, than breathe all the dirt and bacteria that you bring in your house + only image what is growing inside those shoes after constant wear.
