As I know they are designing a new gen fighter, several countries are in the design "Tempest". I doubt this one is true, but who cares about a plane reaching these speeds, what else can they do but flying fast, and at what expenses or drawbacks

We waste to much money on defence, It should be spent on offence, We should make it impossible for any country to attack us and not get wiped out in the process if they attacked us....Sadly that would mean a thousand more nukes and everyone placed on 10 new subs

Does anyone remember when defence projects were top secret. Now it's the norm to plaster everything on youtube for all the world to see and copy. What a joke.

This excited me...until I heard the name Reaction Engines. Seriously, this company has been in existence since the 1980s, and its conceptual engine the SABRE is older than that. To date all RE has achieved is to produce one critical component of the SABRE engine, the heat exchanger, which they spent the last decade showing off at industry events, whilst taking hundreds of millions in overseas funding from the ESA, the USAF and US Dept of Defence, not to mention private companies such as RR and BAE Systems. This project will never see the light of day.

Can you imagine the bureaucracy in having so many project teams? TSR2 or the Nimrod MRA4 springs to mind, they’ll get it working, then hand over the technology to others
