This song is all about slowing down and enjoying all aspects of life. When your young, you don't have enough life experience to realize what you should be appreciating until its too late. This song always hits me.
Trace Adkins is a very kind and generous person who just recently gave a free concert in our Tornado stricken town of Mayfield Ky which was devastated and destroyed on December 10, 2021. an EF4 tornado left 24 people dead and at least 200 people injured in Graves County Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service. Trace stopped here to help raise money and bring awareness as our people work and struggle to rebuild, on his " Somewhere in America Tour". Yes were gonna miss this but we will rise up better than ever.
I am late but my thoughts on this song as someone who grew up with country music like this. It isn't just about your childhood life in school or your home life etc.... Its as you get older ANY of the things you cherish and look back on as a good memory as time goes on you tend to miss those days. Its hard to understand as a young person including myself but as time goes on despite having a lot of negatives in my childhood I had so many positives and I can look back and think "I wish I could go back and do that again or experience that again". Whether it be time spent with a loved one or growing up and having kids. Once you think about any of those positive times that are gone in time you will want to go back.
The part about the plumbers two babies - 36 and 23 - always gets me because my mom always says you'll always be my baby, no matter how old you get. You don't fully understand that until you have your own babies.
Oh this song holds so many new memories for me . I look back the past 33 years …. My son was born and 29 years later he passed away . My only baby boy I think back and replay our memories and smile …

I'm 51 years old. I've learned that the rules and lessons my parents were trying to drill into me was B.S. when i was young were right. We all get our throughout our lives about what our elders told us in our past as we grow older. Benjamin Franklin said, "Life's tragedy is we grow old too soon and wise too late."
It does go by quickly. As you get older, you look back. When your 18 year everything is still in front of you and everything is new. It’s hard to explain, but one day sooner than you think, you’ll understand.
that makes a lot of sense, for now we'll try to enjoy each stage of life, and live in the moment. And hopefully the older we get the more wise we get lol
This is about taking the time to enjoy the time of life you are in and stop spending so much time worrying about the future, it will get here and when it does you can’t go back.
I'm 57, Time goes by so fast, The point to the song I think is that you will want that time back. I would love to be 20 years old again and do all the craziest s*** that I did? Not much time left now but I've got a lot of good memories.

Not sure how I wound up as old as I am, but there is something to missing times that seem to pass too soon. I never really believed my mom when she said life speeds up as you get old, but it really does. Heading rapidly towards 60 now and not sure how that happened so fast. Great reaction!
The video is filmed in Trace’s hometown of Sarepta Louisiana. And the older gentleman at the end of the video I think is Trace’s dad who has been gone now for years. I’m sure Trace does ‘miss this.’ ♥️🎶

I have a son 25 and one 15....as much as I try to slow it down, it lets you and think you've somehow done it somewhat. lol I will say it helped to have em 10 yrs apart, it gives me sorta a second chance to have em little again. Some of these songs hit different once you start to have your babies grow up on ya.

I definitely feel this song,its like just yesterday i was 18,now im 38,my oldest boys are 19 and 18,just graduated high school,my 13 yo is just starting high school,my youngest are 8 and 6,i try to enjoy every moment with them because i see how fast my oldest ones grew up,i do miss them being little,time sure does fly,great reactions,quickly becoming one of my fav channels to watch

One thing i don't like about people who don't struggle and have anything they want. They don't appreciate anything or understand the struggles. It's very hard to relate to these people when i didn't know where my next meal was coming from and they go i wasn't able to party. Its crazy
Before family members started dieing I always said I'd never wish 18 on anyone. Looking back having my dad, the bf who became my hubby that leukemia took too soon, all the grandparents, all the great aunts and uncles, the 16 that covid took, sleeping in on a lazy weekend before becoming a parent then a single parent with nothing to worry about while watching shadows cross the ceiling... Just hanging out in my dad's beat up old van, feet up on the dash, callused hands and grass stained jeans complaining about the bullying... I would absolutely give the last year of my life in exchange for one more at 18 with every one that I miss now. That's the rub. If you're blessed with luck and excellent health you're cursed to burry everyone you've ever cared about. Everything about this song is true in my experience.
