i was originally the camp counselor for the kids annie camp for my local community theatre. the girl who plays the star to be got sick, and they asked me to fill in. but the catch is, tomorrow is opening night. so here i am trying to memorize her scenes before tomorrow! this is really helpful, thank you :)
I love this song but I hate the ending! I’m Annie and another kid is warbucks, the thing is, I really don’t want to yawn and fall asleep in his sleeve! It’s so weird, for both of us, I can tell that he is uncomfortable with it too. I just wish we didn’t have to do the “popcorn, what do ya say to some popcorn?” (Annie yawns and leans against warbucks sleeve) “Give in. Don’t fight. Good Girl. Good night. Sleep tight, in N.Y.C.” (Warbucks picks up the sleepy Annie in his arms and walks off stage right.) it’s so weird!!! Plus my dad is gonna kill me! Anyone have a way to calm yourself down for things like this??
It's a little late but in my production they just changed it to "you'll be/ alright/good girl/good night" after the class generally considered the wording to be creepy
