Hey man, awesome question. The first thing I’d say (and probably most important) is to be a good student. You don’t have to be a straight A student, but make sure to pass all your classes and be on top of your work. The last thing your coach would want is to get a message from your teacher that you miss homework/cut class. That’s an easy bench. After that it’s all about what you do at practice/games. Be early to practice every single day. Be responsible for everything. If you can’t make a practice one day, make sure to tell your coach at least a couple days in advance. Last I’d say is be a coachable athlete. No coach likes arrogant hotheads. Listen to what your coach has to say and also give him feedback about how you feel with your mechanics. Be a good teammate, too. That’s pretty much it man. All of that also applies to college.
