I got robbed at gunpoint in 2019 while doing Uber Eats and GrubHub. After that I started carrying, regardless of any licensing or company policy against it. The company doesn't protect my life, that's my responsibility.

Dear people who live in NYC….there are over 109,000 cities in the U.S. I know it costs a lot of money to move, but do you think perhaps it’s time to cut your losses? Good grief, making $200 a day is awesome money, and that’s a major problem there? That’s insane to me.

If NYC wants drivers to be paid for idle time, what is stopping anyone from just logging in and not trying to take any fares? You are getting paid either way. Sounds like a recipe for fraud.

I am glad I moved out of NY. Crime in NY is unbearable, yet the nincompoop Mayor has the face to say crime is low…these politicians are an insult to the law abiding citizens.

Born and raised in New York City. So glad I experienced the good times. Now I live in the suburbs (Westchester County) and many parts of the county is turning into a hell hole as well. Crime is off the charts.

I do Uber here in New Jersey I no longer waste my time taking passengers into New York anymore, especially with all of the traffic and now with the possibility of not only getting robbed by the toll that you have to pay upon entering NY but now you are also faced with being robbed by the residents as well. Those trips are not worth it

I live in East New York Brooklyn. One night I was running late for work .. it was about 10pm & it was raining. I saw a guy walking as I was going to my car. Something said to me “get in there car lock the door” now I usually do this anyway but of course I listened to myself. So as soon as I get into my car I locked the door all I heard was a big THUD I thought a tree branch fell onto my car as it was raining pretty hard. NOPE! The guy I saw walking rushed up to my car, jumped on my trunk, & slid to my passenger door to open it. All I could do was stare at him I froze smh! Then he apologized but that was AFTER he went to my drivers door & tried to open it too & banged on my window. GOD was with me this night cause only God knows what could have happened to me if I didn’t lock my doors in time .. I have to get out of NYC. If you’re reading this & you live in NYC & you have the opportunity/chance to move out of the state DO IT! Especially if you have kids. Once I am able to move out of NYC my kid & I will never ever look back. OH LETS NOT TALK ABOUT HOW BAD THE CRACK EPIDEMIC IS AGAIN!! ZOMBIES EVERYWHEREEEEE

recently visited new york- (knife collector and 2A advocate) so i look up the laws and self defense is basically off the table- you cant carry 99% if knifes- slingshots are a felony: and getting a permit? no-way-dude so what you've done is let out criminals onto streets of nomies who have no recourse both legal and physical? i simply ask who was expecting this to not happen.

Government is the problem. I drove for a car service years ago and never go paid for idle time and had to sit in the car the whole shift. What many working for Lyft and Uber are drawn to is the ability to go on and off the app at will while sitting home doing other things.

Uber needs to start requesting ID and a picture when they order a ride from Uber.

I'm calling it now, Uber and Lyft will stop operating in NYC. The government always forgets they can't force them to operate anywhere at a loss.

Why would anyone want to live there? In my state if you shop lift anything, if you steal a car, if you assault someone, etc… you go straight to jail and get prosecuted.
