I've been living in NYC my entire life, and I never go to the tourist traps throughout the city. It surprises me how many people get so worked up just to see a statue

Yea bro i fee you, I used to go to college around central park south and passed by times Square everyday and told myself I wouldn't go. But I had to pass through to go to east side and the amount of zombie tourists surprised me even though I knew what to expect.

your iPhone can get stolen too easily. don' flash it around and don't put it in your back pocket and.... there are some good guides for protecting yourself from pickpockets, kleptomaniacs etc.

OMG I go to NYC all the time and these hacks will help SO MUCH! Especially the taxi one, lol my parents had no idea how to get a taxi and it took forever and in my mind I was like "wow they should have some sort of way to tell if it's open or not" lol I had no idea!! Love your channel you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful city!!!

Great Video! This is very informative. Some of these hacks i didn't even know about. As for the train app, regardless of when you know when the train coming, there will always be delays.

I'm from Phoenix, Arizona, and I visit NYC whenever I can. It's a fun and interesting city! One of the most important things for visitors to learn is how to use the subway system. By the way, I love NYC's subway system, and I wished my city had a public transport system like that.

For traveling by bus download Bustime from MTA. It will show you a map of exactly where the buses are. Also any museum what lists the entry fee as 'suggested' you can pay what you want. This includes most of the big ones like the Met and Natural History but sadly not Moma...

I live in NYC. The bathroom locator hack is really useful. The hack about when the bus is here: that 6 digit number is useful if you have money to spend & unlimited text. If you don‘t there's a QR code where you can scan 100% in daylight, not really good at night, and use a bit of data to get the same info as texting, toward the bottom of the bus schedule (this schedule is mostly incorrect) on a fixed pole next to bus stops or download an app called Transit which shows you the times for buses, trains, ferries, bikes, etc... All in 1 app! plus you can go to www.mta.Info to download the MTA NYC subway map on your phone plus get info on what trains are being delayed.

Hey Ainura, I grew up in Brooklyn in the 1950's/60's. Finally moved out in 1988, (40 years was enough). I like that computer stuff with the apps for the trains and buses, so freakin' high tech. In my day you just waited for the subway, there wasn't any schedule. Also we had no; cell phones, I phones, computers of any type, let alone laptops. If ya wanted music on the subway ya got a transistor radio and in the 1970's you bought a Walkman. In the 1950's the rides cost 15 cents and there were no metro cards, we had subway "tokens". So you're 17 now?? I was 17 in 1967. Nice video kid. Do you know the names of the two stone lions in front of the Library on 42nd street and Fifth Ave.????
