Curious why they are piloting the other trash tech that is out there. Trashcans or dumpsters that are underground. This way the trash truck pulls out the dumpster and just releases it like dust from a self contained vacuum (with a bottom that releases) These are way better, keep the trash out of the elements and keeps most pests out. Including trying to get certain types of items that are too big. Like a human body from being dumped inside These underground dumpsters even are computer measured. So if it gets too full they can dispatch a truck to pick it up Seems like this is a halfway between good and bad. Making this solve 'just enough' They need better funding for the Sanitary Department

WTF!🤣In Spain we have those since the 80's, there even are thrash cans and collectors underground, also trucks here are from the 21st century not the 20th, come on! I thought the USA and New York were living in 2024 not 1984 😂🤣

Great to see NYC learning from other countries. Hope they actually keep this program and doesn't just be a 1-2 month thing.
