Nyce1s - The World's First Ever 9 Second All Motor Street Honda Civic 

Driveshaft shop is one of the great companies that after you buy their 'upgraded' axles and install them only to find out they don't seat correctly at the hub, they tell you that they are non refundable. So then you drive 2.5 hours one-way to their shop and hand deliver the defective parts, they disappear for about 5 minutes and bring you the exact same axles that they couldn't seem to fix. And then they tell you that they won't replace their super-duper 'quality' parts. True story

For everyone who's wondering about the red civic running a much faster time, it's boosted, you can hear the turbo spool at 2:30 during the launch. 9 seconds is insane for a 4 cylinder naturally aspirated motor.....just take a minute to think about that...

this is my first time ever seeing a all Motor 9.sec Honda Civic Great run

I live in Florida I've seen worse on tha street. I seen cars with lexan glass, no dash board, open headers n all, so if u ask me i would say yes its a street car. Not because they bring the car on a trailer doesnt mean it cant be driven on the street. My cousin has a full interior street Civic Hatch makin 800+hp and when he's goin to tha track the car gets trailered because of distance and gas cost, he uses C16 Race Fuel which cost about $90 for 5 gallons. But regardless if you guys think this is a street car or not its still a 9sec All Motor 4 cylinder car, thats pretty fast.

also agree with you mate, theres a guy here in aus that ran a 9 sec pass n/a also with a b series engine, but im pretty sure the drive shaft shop eg has alot more potential, but then again it's so good seeing honda motors stepping it up and pulling good numbers down the 1/4mile.

That is not a street car. It's a track car with fake plates. Slicks, open exhaust, that air damn in the front, not a street car.

depending on where the car is registered, you dont have to have emissions inspection so you can do what you want. for all out track use i would trailer it too so that if something were to go wrong they still have a ride

yeah they R mustang camaros out there but they gotta be v8 or v6 to run 9. the civic only need 4v to run 9.

When someone says street car it only means that the car is street legal doesn't mean they drive it on the street. Jeez

all motor is used for drag racing and it means naturally aspirated and no nitrous (what it means where i'm from) so it actually clarifies further than just naturally aspirated.

From what I could see, looked like he had a front mount, indicating a turbo setup. This one is all motor, which is impressive.

It may be called different things elsewhere, but in the UK the front hubs on a FWD car are turned by drive-shafts on either side.

That civic probably had upwards of 600whp. The fact that this could keep up with that till the 1/8th is testament to the builders of this beast.

Congrats, this is an amazing video and extremely happy with the numbers this k series bubble made. This really motivates me to actually build a track car and motivates me to build a k. I'm definitely looking forward on watch the next prayoonto racing video.

the technical term is half-shafts or CV (constant velocity) shafts. saying axle is referring to a solid rear end or a trailing axle like on a trailer.

Yeah.The 4 injectors are the original and when you put on a big turbo with high pressure you need to add 2 more into the intake manifold to accustom the higher airflow ratio.Which is pretty basic.So the other 4 is machined almost directly in.It is injecting methanol controlled by a secondary computer when a certain boost and rpm level is reached.About 4500 rpm. So about THIS Civic could I have more details like what crank case its using and compression ratio,Cam degrees,igntion time,rpm etc?...

all my friend and i have been around honda since we were younger and we have noticed other than a bad headgasket and overheating a honda wont truly die unless the owner fails to maintain oil and coolant and of course basic like you get what you put into it apply with everything,.so mods can either help last longer or kill faster just depends

I've had my Evo for a few years now, never had an issue. That's usually with the older model ones anyways. Besides any car can technically crankwalk. And the 4g63 block is one of the best out there, the cast iron block can hold up to 1000 hp. MAP sells a stage 2 rebuild kit, and with their I beam rods they use the stock crank and they used the same rebuild kit for their evo which has a record for 1053 to the wheels on stock ecu. Like I mentioned before I'd like to see a dyno chart for that civic

also let me add the last time I saw honda's running this fast it was with custom EVERYTHING! Dude was running 4's in the 1/4 with what they called an "Integra" but the block was 4 liters and the head was custom as well as trans, turb, and nos. The block looked like it belonged in a tank dude. It's on youtube, you should check it out. 4000hp.

** to drive on the street for any extended period of time, and who knows if the lights on this car even work, simply to qualify for the class they might be (and it's very likely that they are) there for looks to make class requirment because this car definitely doesn't use a factory wiring harness

The emissions equipment aren't required on certain vehicles. That one can be tagged, and titled, and driven on the street legally because it isn't being driven every day. That's why you actually see old pre 70's cars running period correct exhaust systems and them not being forced to run cats.

Very impressive indeed, but I truly enjoy watching the F.A.S.T. series where vintage muscle cars that are restored to OE specs(down to wheels & bias ply stock sized tires) except the drivetrain is open to any internals and compression ratio(as long as it looks stock from the outside). There's a '71 Mustang Mach 1 running 9.8s at 140 on factory sized bias ply Goodyears! That was on a 1.77 60ft, that, to me, is truly amazing :)

I've seen a stock Camaro run a high 12 just on drag radials. When you swap the heads and cam in an LSx engine it really wakes them up.

I have absolutely never heard of a 100 grand civic, hell, I've barely ever heard of a 25+ grand civic. That's fucking rare, and yet I see fast and clean ones all the time.

there are civics in the 8's he is saying the first all motor honda no turbo/supercharger on it broke into the 9's thats a big accomplishment.

when they say street it means its certified, so it still has the air bags and cats and some other things that would limit it compared to something that was not street legal which could be completely stripped out. i agree, this thing probably isn't driven often

Honestly out of all the Hondas, I like the s2000 the most. I've seen s2k's swapped with the 2jz and pull a lot of power. And the f20 is a pretty powerful block if done properly. If you're using the evo or dsm as a daily driver then you probably won't have problems. If you keep up with maintenance, and everyone knows this, then u should be good

See like I said before, 75% of your power is gonna come from air flow on a na motor which will probably add 100 hp if you do it right, then if you cam it out 15 percent more power. Building the block isnt gonna add power its just get the block ready for a turbo so it can hold the power so you snap a rod. With the air flow and cam and fuel system upgrade, you'll add like 150 more hp.

Its the class dude. 99% of cars you see on the track would be impounded for something anyway. Having said that, with just a quick glance it looks like it wouldnt take a lot to get this beast back on the street.

Not to sound like a know-it-all but nitrous oxide is not technically forced induction. It chemically modifies the air by adding more oxygen as opposed to a supercharger which imparts force on ambient air to modify it's density to fit more oxygen into the same volume. They do essentially the same thing, more oxygen in the same volume, though but the method very different. To say "My car is naturally aspirated" while using nitrous is technically correct but obviously misleading.

The best part of an all motor class is that it's cost effective. the odds of blowing an engine is much greater in a turbo or nitrous car.

That is not a street car, not by a long shot. When you drive that thing with a full exhaust to the track, do your runs, then drive it home ( without a support vehicle ), then you can call it a street car. But having said that, a 9 second/all natural/fwd honda is amazing. Congratulations!

For a Honda to hold a turbo like that the engine itself needs to be aspirated pretty strong. That's amazing me.

The exhaust out the hood is legal I'm pretty sure there's a built gsr Turbo driving around the streets so I'm sure it is.

There is a lot more to getting NA street car achieve those sort of time. Aero packages, suspension, weight reduction and distribution are just as important to R&D. For what was once a probably a 15-18sec car down to 9 as a rough outline, you would need to triple your power, effectively get that to the ground and reduce weight by 66%. NA Street is limited in how much power you can get, and how much weight you can remove/cut out before having to change classes.

You left out the part thats actually important: all-motor. Its a f***ing 4 cylinder motor with no turbo, no supercharger, just the motor. To run the 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds on ~2L (I don't know what motor they are actually running) in a FWD hatchback without any power adders is f***ing impressive. Turbo civics can get into the 7s these days.

Its an all motor car - the other car runs the turbo class - he didnt get 'tossed' they are in seperate classes because this car makes 400ish and the turbo car makes 6-700ish - two different setups

i think they say all motor so its clear that its naturally aspirated and no nitrous. All though nitrous is technically forced induction, alot of people will still say naturally aspirated but then use nitrous

That wasnt an all motor race - it was a test and tune session - the car in the other lane was a turbo car with 7-900whp or so - his all motor car is probably 380-420whp

wow you guys are in NC...i stay in raleigh...i was at sonics cruise in last night on western blvd andthere was a hatch that runs 10.9 and all i heard was the 9 part and i was like thats impossible for all motor to run a 9...guess i was wrong lol

Ok I think miswrote that. Actually a stock evo 8 makes 276 to the crank, 225 to the wheels, stock evo 9 makes roughly 290 bout 235 to the wheels. With some supporting mods, and my e85 tune, I made 400 to the wheels at 8k rpm, I have the dyno chart. Now unless ur prelude was boosted then u were making 350 to the wheels. Maybe with being cammed out, block work, head work, and e85, you'd probably put down more like 320 at most if that
