Yeah exactly, I couldn't care less about those numbers when it isn't shown. I mean, at this point Spitfire Formula Fours are king when it comes to not flat spotting ever. I ride on the roughest ground possible and the Formula Four Conical Full 101A could not care less about it. In comparison my Speedlab Wheels Bolts 100A get completely chewed up on that ground. Not a chance the Speedlab wheels would ever slide that ground, but the Formula Four Conical Fulls by Spitfire do and they don't break a sweat. They feel pretty indestructible really. I know the Speedlabs are a freestyle brand, but it doesn't matter. The difference is huge. I also had some softer Bones wheels that basically did the same thing. The Seismic Focus wheels are excellent too, but they are probably too wide and big for regular type tricks.

Dr. Tae The raw data can be a bit mind-numbing. However, if you'd be interested in seeing, please consider this an open invitation to visit our testing facility and view the test data, machines, etc.

Ricta Wheels I appreciate the invitation (and I'll take you up on it the next time I'm near Santa Cruz!) but your raw data is probably just numbers in spreadsheet. There's nothing "mind-numbing" about that. I know NHS has to do some marketing, but if you're going to throw around "irrefutable evidence" and "scientific" in your ads, you should probably play by the rules of actual science.

@@RictaWheels lol, so basically you're saying your potential customers are too 'dumb' to understand raw data? Yikes. I love the Ricta Clouds 92A for cruisers, so don't take this for hating. But when bold claims are made, you better have the evidence to back it up. There's a reason why Spitfire Formula Four wheels are very popular now. Very simple powerslide tests already show they are very very good. We 'dumb' customers don't need much else. Especially when these wheels are priced pretty much the same as Bones STF or Spitfire F4. The Bones are too sticky for how hard they are supposed to be, but I'd chalk that up to them not quite being as hard as advertised for the most part. And by being softer more suited for vert or skatelite environments than hard Spitfires. I'm actually curious to find out how the harder (hardest?) Ricta wheels compare, but this was a bit off putting.

jeremyshambles Thanks for the input. Very good point on the hardness. We will specify the durometers tested in future lab videos. All wheels we tested were 101A or harder (B scale). Also, Ricta has a new 86A Clouds wheel in shops. Thanks again!

***** excellent idea, I ride rough streets here in san diego and the oj's keyframes work out quite swimmingly. they will slide,revert and grind better after a few sessions. they are super fast and smooth, cheers

***** you are making a lot of sense my friend, I have searched the interwebs for such a wheel and the closest I ve found were the keyframes and a company out of san Francisco called solitary arts (jeff harstel) they make a 50 mm 87a that is called the black egg. great wheels but a bit too small being that I wore them down too swiftly. it is impossible for me to ever ride another hard wheel because the 87's are at least twice as fast and roll over rough surfaces like a methed up cheetah.

Joey Rodriguez They're better in terms of being more flatspot resistant, but the speedrings specialise, in absorbing impact on big gaps etc and rolling over cracks.

Joey Rodriguez hi mate. In terms of speed, the speed rings (like in the name), offer a faster ride, but will wear down slightly faster than the NRG wheels. Great wheels all round. Nrg is great for street, whereas the speedrings are more suited for park :)

TKennds Ima go with the speed rings lol. I live in New York and the street spots are kinda rough so I usually go 99a. Been dying to try out Ricta. I saw the sparx formula at my job but I'm looking more for speed right now

I would think so, it could also depend on bearings but I think they used the same ones

obviously the test was based on "X" amount of time and which wheel rolled the board furthest during that time. if u roll further than anyone else during the same time period it is because you were going the fastest. Does anyone know what it is about the wheel that makes it have less friction?( ie.chemical composition? hardness? wheel shape related to aerodynamics? etc?)

Not only the fastest, but they last the longest, are more durable and they flat spot the least (more resistant to flat spots).

@@typedef_ Except, none of that is actually true. I found Spitfire F4 wheels to be way more durable and flat spot resistant.

Daniel Sinyatkin Sorry to hear about your Sparx experience. Sparx are 81B durometer urethane, which is pretty hard, but not uncommon. Where did you purchase them?

These wheels are meant to be hard. If you dint like them buy softer wheels. I ride ricta naturals which are the same formula (white lightning) as sparx, and i like them the best. Ive tried bones and stipfire.
