CBS New York had live team coverage as NYPD officers moved in on Columbia University to clear out protesters who had occupied Hamilton Hall and set up an encampment on the main lawn.

Columbia prides itself on activism, these students are nothing but brave and are standing up for humanity! Why should peaceful activism on Palestine be any different?! Double standard much.
@@samank8628 look, who’s talking about double standards! This isn’t a protest. This is a chaotic anarchy! And you guys are so full of crap! all these universities need to be shut down and start all over again and get rid of all the socialist Marxist communist crap that’s in there right now!

Nope. Their are non students protesting and trespassing. They will go from jail to deportation detention center untill removed from united states. This ain't the early 2000s. This is the conservatibmve era.
All for the right of protesting. Its what makes this country great! But once you start breaking entries and being unorderly, those rights go away! Good work NYPD.
The reason they did that is because Columbia is suspending and expelling students for simply exercising their first amendment rights. That and the previous heavy-handedness of police.
What is ridiculous is the ones that try to stop them just sit there singing and not hurting anyone, the government is doing all this for Israel, at list the war in Vietnam was an American war, this has nothing to do with America Imagine if these people are doing this for Ukraine, what do you think the government will do to them? Provide the Ukraine flags food and water and they make sure they are safe, and what do you think the media will say? these people are heroes, kind people who can't stand the killing and all that.
The protests are protected by the first amendment rights. Makes us wonder whether you are a real American citizen. These protests are legal. not a single student riot in middle east. All muslim countries know how to deal with student riots in support of hamas: they would crush it. actually they dont welcome palestinians student. they all know too well what palestinians did in Irak, Lebanon and Jordania.
@Kay-td2fc the US will condemn the riots? Lol you know alot of people are confused in this country. Some say out rights are Being taken away we can't say what we want , then on the other hand they support students being arrested for speaking up. It's interpretation of the law by authority. They use the law as a weapon against those that stand against them and use the law in favor of those who stand with them.
There is no such thing as a Muslim country, belief is a personal thing. these people are not there to support Hamas they want the killing to stop because they happen to have a heart and they feel something when they see kids blown up to pieces, There are people who can't feel anything when they see a child killed these people can't lie to themselves they know exactly who they are,
Hamas? Nope. You probably saw a couple loudmouths claiming they were hamas and were dumb enough to believe it. Most Palestinians aren't even Hamas. They weren't even old enough to vote in the 06' election. Because most of them are just kids. All you're really saying here is "I hate kids."

As an outsider, i.e., a uk citizen watching this, i do actually have a lot of respect for the Police here,at least they are, unlike in the uk 'policing' these student protestors.
