For everyone who’s saying that the trooper shouldn’t use the laptop, you’re allowed, by law, to use any portable electronic devices while driving, as long as the device is not planted in either hand. The trooper’s using of the laptop while driving is no different than someone using a gps device, that’s affixed to the windshield. Equally, if you have a smartphone mounted on a cellphone holder which is affixed to the windshield, and you’re using it while driving, you’re not violating the New York cellphone/texting laws- simply because you’re doing it hands-free. It’s synonymous to drinking and driving which isn’t against the law, as long as you’re under .04 in New York.
@@SBayne762 What he means is drinking before getting behind the wheel. Drinking and driving means you’re already drunk and happen to be driving, not actively consuming an alcoholic beverage while driving.
it kills me when u see the police ride by on the phone all the time laughing but they will tell u that they where on a inportment call ,i didnt spell that right lol
NYST are trained to multitask and everything thing that they need is on that computer the CAD GPS information about the call they talk to the other officers on there so they are blowing up there radio while talking to an other officer it is part of there training and she is constantly looking back at the road not just looking at her computer
To all the idiots crying over how this trooper is breaking the law by using her laptop... just fyi, most if not all states have an exemption in place allowing emergency personnel to use electronic devices while driving in the execution of their duties. The reasons for this I thought would be pretty clear...perhaps that's asking too much 🙄
Dez Bryant That is a double standard because the truck driver she stoped was calling for directions but she still ticketed him but she can use her laptop for directions????
I think everyone is missing the point here... You're talking about someone who is looking at their laptop and is typing at most 7 letters to check a license plate. Versus the MILLIONS of Americans including mostly Teenage Boys and Girls, and WOMEN who text on their phone complete sentences EVERY SINGLE DAY. 1 Person typing 6 letters to run a plate, versus the millions typing complete sentences on their phones paying ZERO attention.
but then when the public tries to justify cops, they say they're "exempt" from the law. meaning only the police can use electronics while driving. so stupid
haywood16 She says that cell phones are distracting and then proceeds to be distracted by looking for others to be distracted and then uses the computer at the end while driving..
Ok so, for everyone saying that she's on the laptop typing, she needs it to do her job. All the information is on the laptop and she NEEDS to look at it. Of course she can pull over and check but if they are going somewhere code 3 and can't stop, what do you suggest they do?
Christian Bynoe she obviously is not going " code 3" genius she should obey the law of distracted driving like every one else and I'm sure she uses cell phone behind wheel in her personal car but never got a ticket because she has a badge ,so stop your bull shit we pay her salary and your too !🖕🏻😂🖕🏻
"That distraction can turn deadly" funny thing to say from someone that is sticking a camera with a suction cup mount and an extended arm, just above the dash that just so happens to take up that entire corner of the windshield on a as the trooper said "Tahoe so we are high enough to see into the cars"
