When was this? Clearly before the gangs discovered the real power of P? And the greed that goes hand in hand with this bullshit! I have seen enough of this ! It's the tamariki ma who suffer all of the time. I am a teacher so I try to pick up the pieces of these we ones, but there is no way I can get into a gang headquarters to save kids.
Man I believe that its the internet that's making this change in us. I saw an awesome comment down below by boy frog. For every good comment exceptionally received or inspired, then change will certainly become an a inevitable inspiration to us all. At the beginning of this documentary I was a bit skeptical at first but as I carried on watching, I slowly started to see what this Roy Dunn was talking about. Especially when he talked about not wanting his kids to go down the same path that he did. I did put a patch on for the day now and again but I didn't seriously get into being a patch member. I couldn't see the point in it. because we were all related in both gangs the mongrel mob and the black power. We all went to school together. But I was brought up in a violent up bringing. Not from my father,he passed away when I was 4yrs old. This was from my mothers partner. He was f***n scary. Me and my youngest sister copped it the most. The brutality that he inflicted onto us two. He never molested me but he did to my sister.I was to young to take him on. I swore that I would never let my kids be brought up in this type of abuse ever. That's why I can see where Roys coming from and good on him. Our kids are our future. kia kaha aow. .
Thank you for not growing up and using the cop out that you were messed with/given a hiding as a kid and perpetuated that violence to your own kids. Thank you for wanting change. Thanks for not being another Maori male statistic.
white aotearoa needs too get some ''Bottle'' too zero these rapists off their peoples. how the hell can you be with your loved ones knowing these masturbators are still in the jungles.
Many years ago when I was released from jail, the prison chaplain alerted me to get in touch with you Sam. Thank you for the advice and the people you directed me to in my neighborhood who carried on the good work. Thank you, to you and your wife for making time and sharing your table with a total stranger straight out of a lag, especially at a time in my life when I needed direction. AMAZING GRACE.
I think its a mess, europeans have screwed everyone, personaly i think that you should stick to your culture, respect yourself and else will respect you, as the say goes dignity no doubt! but the way out is thrue education, mastering of the business world to bring back to the comunity and most of all stay active, even if it seems like nothing people are not even on natural gift, elders should work on getting people together and using each ones natural abilities to work with the others. Peace bro
mean maori broz!....haterz state your address so you can tell them face to face ..Alex ahiao, 192 champion st, Porirua..if u talk not so nice best back it up an state your address?.... love for all gang members goin thru the struggle!
Ka rawe to mahi, this is wat whanau about..."gangs"will always be seen in society as scums of the earth, we need more leaders like u to make change for our tangata. Theres awesome stuff our tamariki/mokopuna have to look forward to in their lives if only we had good people like u to guide their whanau. Nga mihi rawa atu💖
Urbanization after the second world war saw many Māori migrate to the cities where a mixed society without culture existed. Traditional Māori tikanga was rapidly declined as Pākehā methods slowly over shadowed Māori practices that existed on te whenua. Abuse from Pākehā was common, there is no equivalent in Māori to the vile language that was introduced to these naive young men. Gangs were the only real place they found identity as Māori- regardless the colour of their scarf. MAURI ORA!
Man my whole perception on the mongrel mobs has changed. I'm liking the new change and I'm thinking of one day, if I get the opportunity, to jump in onboard and help the kids out with voluntary arts and craft. Love the awesome work Dunn and the Leader of the Mongrel Mob... Much respect and honor to you and your whanau and the rest of the Mongrel mob members thinking of change :D
by that i mean creating win win situations (like a good artist with a good business minded person, ...) but all that for the comunity cause' the state won't look after you they only look after businesses. Thats my take on it, bro'
What an amazing couple and to Roy and the rest of the Notorious chapter of Mongrel Mob for taking such GIANT steps in your lives . we all know Rome was not built in a day, however i wish you all the best!
Through out this whole video, big fella reminded me of that turtle from king fu panda, and then at 12:50 he even pretty much says one of the turtles references lmao. Too much. And too much too the way they wanted to head. And I feel sorry for the ones who didn’t wanna make that change. But overall I do think gangs are stupid and devide the people when the real enemy is the banks and the worlds wealthiest family’s who’s desire is global domination. And who’s actions effect each and every one of us. If you care about your street, then you obviously care about the suburb it’s in. Which means then you should care about what town that suburbs in. Then you should care about what country that towns in. Then you should care about the planet that countries in. Because earth can exist without your hood, your hood can’t exist without earth. See we don’t look at things properly. The way the world is, is by design. It’s all to much to get into but I want people to elevate. It’s half our fault as it is the worlds because we allow it to be.
Knowledge is power.. and learning to aroha your family as this dude was saying is definitely whats going to make the difference, brake the cycle and change perspective on whats real and whats not. I've never been one to give these type of falas the time of day or any credit but "actions speak louder then words" and I'll absolutely give credit where credit is due. Awesome effort brothers! I guess inspiration is found even in the worst of us and lets hope society is as forgiving as Sam.
