Well hip-hop to me encompasses more than just a rap… But I suppose I see her larger point. They just assumed she was hip hop just cause she’s brown, where she could be indie pop or something else.
This video makes me extremely happy. I saw her live years ago and had drinks w her after the show and she is the chillest, sweetest artist l, I’ll never ever forget that night. She’s been so slept on. I remember all her originals she had out on RU-vid singing to her webcam back in the day and I still remember lyrics to some gems she wrote and never released. Great writer and just had it all. She’s been too slept in and I wish for her to come back in the game and release some more beautiful music cause she definitely has it. 😭❤

Sorry to correct you @ttamihana but I saw an interview where she clearly stated her dad is from Indian and her mum Samoan. No Maori at all. However she is a New Zealander who was born n bred here. Nationality aside we both love her music so let's leave at that👍🇼🇸
