A collection of my favourite video of steam locos operating in New New Zealand this year, featuring Ab608, Ja1271 and F163. Turn up your speakers and listen to the sound of NZ Steam at its best
I have rec,d videos of steam trains on home video myself, ANY movement at looks ten times when you play it back, it is difficult to reduce movement as well as get the good shots etc not easy!
Indeed. Once you have watched your own footage you think "why does that look so bad?" so you end up trying to improve it. A tripod is a big step in the right direction, but if you want panned shots or anything requiring movement of the camera then a fluid video head on the tripod is a must as it dampens the jerks. They are relatively inexpensive these days if you are going for a basic one, well worth the money.
@@struck2soon i followed the steam trains from CH--CH to Greymouth, i tried to get good video and one or two photo,s, it keeps you on your toes as you know especially when you use a tripod, you have to fold up enough to get in the car find a good spot get setup again and repeat this many many times! Do not worry your videos are Good, mine i would not share. Not good enough but i am enjoy watching and recording them. Have a good day, stay safe.
