Thanks some much for sharing your excursions with me and the rest of your viewers, looks like you all had a great time. The fact that you had the chance to see and ride some steam must’ve been a real thrill, ya gotta love them. I use to go to my grandmas house in Wheaton and stayed in her backyard as much as I could and watch the steam locomotives heading east on the CNW, I loved it then and still do when I get a chance. I lived a block from the CNW & the CA&E electric line and used to hang by those tracks every day. Now I’m 2 blocks from the BNSF in Naperville and still watch them at least twice a week, am I a foamer? LOL Thanks again
Thank you so much for the kind words~!! It still blows my mind to this day every time I see steam in person and it has this magic like allure to it. Up until a week or so ago I actually worked in the town of Wheaton as a delivery driver and that town is like home to me. Every time I caught the CNW Metra heritage unit it made me smile and I would pull over on the side of the road just to get a shot of it on camera. Naperville is such a beautiful town and I envy you guys for getting to see those sharp looking BNSF diesels. Guess I'll have to make do with the UP engines of Wheaton/Winfield. Glad you enjoyed the videos, it means a lot~!!
@@Audamus Actually I grew up in the east side of Glen Ellyn and took the CA&E to (I believe, Harrison), they had a tiny depot there with an old flag signal, the conductor use to let me pull the ropes to change them. BTW that old steel bridge that’s now the bike trail was the CA&E electric line, I still ride it (on my bike) LOL. Nothing wrong with the UP I like those too but I liked the colors on the CNW better 😂
@@ronaldjoyce7374 that’s an awesome story~!! I worked at the dominos on Roosevelt and Carlton so I passed by that Bridge all the time. I’ve always been curious about that so thank you for that~!!
