I have a question about the throws and takedowns you do.On the street if you throw or take someone down in a self defense situation what happens if they get right back up?
@Lon3wolf7 -- That question is difficult to answer precisely but easy to answer generally. The general answer is that you "follow up" in some manner that makes sense. That would be by controlling their body, locking a joint, striking them, applying a strangulation technique, etc. The key is to throw someone and NOT simply let them "get right back up." You follow up in a manner that makes sense given that context. The general answer is that you do what you must to keep yourself safe and end the threat of violence against you. The specific answer is difficult because ever situation is unique. In one situation, perhaps it is feasible to simply control the person. In a life threatening situation, applying a much more severe response might be appropriate. So it is difficult to provide a specific answer to a broad question. But the bottom line is that you follow up as needed (and also work your throws so that people don't just get back up when their body hits the concrete). Thanks for the question! All the best to you! 🥋
