O Holy Night Lyrics [Verse 1] O Holy night! The stars are brightly shining It is the night of our dear Savior's birth Long lay the world in sin and error pining 'Til He appears and the soul felt its worth A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn Fall on your knees; O hear the Angel voices! O night divine, O night when Christ was born O night, O Holy night, O night divine! [Verse 2] Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming Here come the Wise Men from Orient land The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger In all our trials born to be our friend He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger Behold your King; before Him lowly bend Behold your King; before Him lowly bend [Verse 3] Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His Gospel is Peace Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother And in His name, all oppression shall cease Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we Let all within us Praise His Holy name Christ is the Lord; O praise His name forever! His power and glory evermore proclaim His power and glory evermore proclaim You might also like
Must be one of the most beautiful + moving pieces of music ever written, and the King’s choir version could not be surpassed. I’m having this at my funeral whatever the time of year.
O, sublime beauty of treble and all male voices! King’s College choir is the last hope of traditional English choral music.God, protect this choir from the invasion of political correctness! St John’s College choir Is not what it used to be anymore...
I liked the arrangement and particularly the dialogue between the trebles and the men in the second verse. The quality, purity of tone and intonation of the trebles I found especially remarkable.
This was super. Measured, controlled, beautifully constructed and performed. It's not better or worse than Cleobury's, just different. Time moves on. Let's honour the past, but look forward to the future.
I love hearing the european sound of the singing - slightly rolling R's etc. I have lived in america most of my life but I did hear the Vienna Boy's Choir and I loved the enunciation

I know Mr. Hyde is in general a Bit slower. If you listen to Once in royal... From CfK2019, youll get to know what I mean - that was his first Carol service
I hope you’ll forgive me, but I very much prefer this arrangement compared to the others I’ve heard by them. This sounds clearer, better paced, more in tune, and it feels more divine and perfect. Merry Christmas, friends. And religion or no, be well and safe.
It's Church of England (anglican). They parted company with the Roman Catholics almost 500 years ago in the 1530s. When this chapel was built and the choir founded, they were catholics! They've had getting on for 600 years to become this good!
