They are or were all members of Voices of Liberty. Employed by Disney World in Florida. Jamey Ray who is a member of the group arranges all the songs they do.

Nice reaction. Did you know that the original song is by a french composer named Alphonse Adam? It's called 'Cantique de Noël' and opens with the words "Minuit, Chrétiens, cést l'heure solenelle..." Alphonse Adam was a classic composer who also wrote operas like "Le postillon de Longjumeaux"

I was wondering what and how you felt as those ppl were singing in that video. Yes, Voctave has an effect like that. I wonder those same questions to about how Voctave gets all these wonderfully talented people. The group is or started in Florida, i believe; like Voiceplay. Voiceplay and Voctave started in Orlando, Florida, Home Free in Minnesota, PTX started in Texas.

In 1973, when I sang with my college a-capella choir, we did a concert at the Strasbourg Cathedral. The acoustics were fantastic! An older gentleman, watching us rehearse, asked if we knew any French songs. So we sang Allons Gay, Gay, Gay Bergères, for him. He started to cry with tears of joy. (I hope it was joy!)

Both experiences are quite a treat. Thanks for sharing! Voctave is amazing sounding, but hearing that choir rehearse. . That must have been incredible. Experiences like that are hard to describe; being both essentially human and transcendental at the same time.

Great Reaction! Thank you so much for sharing about your trip in France and hearing the choir in the Cathedral. I have experienced the same thing in Germany and Ireland. There is something very special about hearing the music in a cathedral. It's just beautiful and it does move something inside of us. Voctave's music does the same. They really are amazing. I hope you will do more reactions to their songs!

Just found your channel. Thanks for sharing your reaction to such a moving version of one of my favorite Christmas songs. Voctave is amazing and so talented. I also watched some of your other reaction videos. I always enjoy seeing how the older music of my generation is discovered by younger people. Yes I am an old guy and grew up in the 60's and 70's listening to all of the great music of that era. One song that I'd enjoy seeing you react to would be "Calypso" by John Denver. It's a tribute to Jacques Cousteau's ship and the ocean adventures he shared with the world. Blessings and stay safe.

Professional voice training including voice exercises, breathing techniques, and operatic techniques in general can create artists like this who can sing at full voice like that in perfect harmony with great accuracy and perfect timing. It's like witnessing any other athlete who has practiced their craft for many years.

Hi Marie, great reaction vid. The soloist in this video is Tiffany Coburn. Jamey Ray is the founder and genius arranger for Voctave and sings one of the tenor parts. Most of Voctave have been members of "The Voices of Liberty" at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. All of these guys are distinguished solo singers in their own right. If you have sung in choirs that solo ability as well as the ability to blend can be two quite different talents. Also, Jamey writes the part for these exact singers not just in general, add to this perfect attacks, perfect releases, total dynamic and vibrato control, finally they sound like this LIVE not just in the studio -- it's scary. I almost gave up singing at all after first hearing Voctave, but after a while it has just become a challenge to try to live up to the super-high standard that they set. As you are doing Christmas reactions, I would suggest you check out Voctave's "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". The solo bit is E.J. Cardona and what he does is almost unbelievable and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. /RayK

There is an interesting interview where the arranger, Jamey Ray, reveals that the 5 women of Voctave are his favorites and among the 5 women, Tiffany Coburn is his favorite. As you can see in one of his early Voctave arrangements, "All Is Well", Tiffany is the soloist. She also really kills it in "The Impossible Dream".

Never heard of Voctave so thank you, that was interesting. So many different voices creating different harmonies. Another group that does outstanding harmonies, sometimes just the women and sometimes just the men, then both together is The Ray Conniff Singers. They are my all time favorite with such an inspired Christmas feeling. I would suggest trying the first two songs of this album to get an idea of their style which is like no other. Hmmm. This "was" my favorite Christmas song until I heard this versions of it. To each their own I guess but I was expecting so much better from this group and I'm left disappointed to say the least. At times the choir seemed to be competing for attention with the singer instead of being the supporting background. But again, to each their own.
