Hello friends!
Welcome back to my newest video! I hope you'll forgive me for taking a break after you see this video. This time I'm showing you one of my pièces de résistance, the stunning "La Danse des Sylphes" by Godefroid! For the pianists our there: there's a version for you as well, just look for it in the interwebs.
Godefroid, who was himself a great harpist, pianist and composer is the patron of an international harp competition in which I took part in 2006 (and won, #justsaying). Look it up here: www.harpemosane...
My previous video: • O&L Bach: Prelude in B...

Your techniques are amazing! Meanwhile I am still working on the big chords and adjust my hands to reduce buzzings, damn I hope one day I can get to your speed without any noise that page. Anyways, thats a really nice interpretation!

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to see this recording still attracts some listeners and seems to inspire them! One tip from Isabelle Moretti: "To avoid buzzes you have to learn to listen first." Every change of position, speed, preparation or imagination will affect noises. Work with your ears in the same way you work with your fingers. That way you will learn to avoid noises even before they happen. At the same time: don't be too stressed out about them. Relax and let the harp sing. And ask it politely when to fall back into the strings. It will happily show it to you.

@@hartobanuharp Thank you so much for the tip! Quarantine will be a very good time for me to practise too ;) Time to have some intense workout on my fingers haha, have a nice harpy day!

Oh...your sore fingers! I fear blisters and blood blisters! I have a VERY LOW pain tolerance and I feel your misery. I would not have been able to play at All with fingers like that!

No respect of Godefroid's tempos.

+Chiara Imbriani Could you specify your views? Because after playing this piece for over ten years that's the first time I get this comment.

+Opera Et Labora (hartobanuharp) Salvi Pubs, pag. 3, bar 4: it says "plus lent".
@hartobanuharp
@hartobanuharp 7 лет назад
Chiara Imbriani Very right! If you read again, we change the beat there. Before there's a 4/4 at quarter=84 (I play it a bit slower, approximately 78) and then we change to a 6/8. This means the former fourth note becomes the next 3/8 and if you listen again I play it "Plus lent" indeed. Any other complaint? (With best regards from the winner of the Godefroid Competition in Namur, Belgium, Godefroid's birth city.)
