This paper focuses on algorithms, programming, and logic, with a duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Remember, you must answer directly on the question paper without any additional materials. Use a black or dark blue pen, and you may use an HB pencil for diagrams. Ensure your name, center number, and candidate number are correctly written at the top of the page.
Firstly, we'll analyze the stages of the program development life cycle and connect them to their appropriate descriptions. Then, we'll delve into decomposing a problem into its component parts, ensuring clarity and accuracy in naming and describing each part.
Moving on, we'll identify the data validation process, understanding its significance in ensuring sensible, acceptable, and reasonable data input. We'll explore various types of test data to validate the effectiveness of our validation checks, including normal, abnormal, and extreme examples.
Next, we'll discuss the purpose of library routines such as "div" and "round," understanding how they facilitate tasks like integer division and rounding values to specific decimal places.
Afterward, we'll examine a pseudo code algorithm designed to total positive numbers until a zero input is encountered. We'll identify and correct errors in the algorithm, ensuring its functionality and efficiency.
Finally, we'll explore ways to enhance program maintainability by incorporating features like meaningful identifiers and comments. These elements not only make the code clearer but also aid in collaboration and future updates.
