From a weekend warrior: I had the O’Neal Riders. For the price I can’t complain and honestly I’m surprised by the comfort. Put 40 hours of MX on them. Just started to brake down and time for new boots. I’ve tried the Astar tech 3, 5, and 7. I’ve also tried the Fox comp and O’Neal elements. I have muscular and slightly lager than average calves. I barely got the tech 3/5 closed without a knee guards. Didn’t really get that fit like a glove comfort either. The 7 is possible but very tight and it seemed overly expensive for my needs. The actual comfort is nicer than the 3&5. You can feel the difference in quality on construction when you get to the 5 and 7 when compared to O’Neal rider, element, Fox comps, and tech 3s. The comps had more room than the 3, 5, & 7s. However the comps are comparable to the O’Neal rider in my opinion as far as protection. Seemed very flimsy side to side. Toe box seemed to narrow down towards the front for a size 10, which is what I wear. I tried and 11 but it was to loose for that confident feeling. Not bad but I expected more from a pair of Fox boots at that price point. They do have an awesome grip surface for holding onto the bike though. Tried the elements out and that’s what I needed up going with. For me it was the most comfortable and for the price it provided enough of everything I was looking for.

I've worn these for about 20-30 rides or so. They were really stiff at first, but after a few hours around the house, they broke in well. Stiff, but not too stiff. I'm impressed with the boot despite the low price. Aluminum clips would improve it though.

It must be a fitment thing if you have issues with these boots because mine are like slippers-almost-but super comf for an "MX" boot. I have NO pinch points at all. Every boot line has its own feel. I have run ONeal for many years as their fitment suits me, especially their helmets. Again, just like the helmets their boots are not for everyone. I just like in the entire line that they really look at all day wear. I got my "racing" ones because - 1. They were on a great sale and 2. I got them for more difficult touring or leading rides into dual sport zones. They are just a bit more protection than a tour boot yet these boots, for me, right out of the box were amazing. You should always break in a boot prior to ride and there are good vis on YT by MX expert riders to show how so that first ride is not torture! Getting back to the boot, they really ARE that comfortable, for me, to ride all day. They are really easy to get on/off with a wide opening and a step on each heel to help pop out of them, but it is easy. My knee braces also fit easy, which is sometimes rare because though made for young aggressive riders it also is great for a 60 something tour papa. Try on a bunch of boots, it costs nothing to try them on (remember they should FIT good then and then break flex in after purchase) and a few lines will be better for you than others or try a redesigned boot also. In 50 years of riding I had the high top tennis shoes(NOT a thing to wear now!), the big ol' bike boots, work boots and then bike use designed boots up through now and I can say it IS best to wear even an economic bike boot than T shoes. ANYWAY, I really am enjoying these boots!!! I have the late 2019 model (they have manufacture date and on tab) and the 2020 is out now and super sales on the 19!!!

Did you get the rdx 2.2? Or these elements. I was looking for some boots and I want some really premium boots like the tech 10s but O’Neal and I was wondering if they are mx boots

Is this better than their Rider boots for adventure and light MX riding? Are these even stiffer? Thanks

@@wackopa2 it makes a huge difference , quality wise is a no brainer , I mean if your just looking for a pair of boots to rip around the farm or the trails then these are perfect but for racing I wouldn’t recommend them at all , the protection is night and day

How is the Element boot for lateral ankle support? Does that plastic limit ankle injury?

I just bought mine and i am disappointed because they are not waterproof. Did i buy a defective pair or i was wrong to assume that they are waterproof?

Unfortunately, these boots along with most other motocross boots are not waterproof.

Are they heavy duty ?
@rmatvmc
@rmatvmc 8 месяцев назад
Not sure exactly what you mean by heavy duty but they are made from durable materials and are built well. This is more of an entry level boot though so it won't offer as much protection or last as long as more premium boots if you're riding hard.
