Allah proclaims in the Qur'an, "O People! You are all impoverished. Allah is free of all need, worthy of all praise. Imam Zaid examines the nature of human impoverishment in the context of this verse and it implications for our relationship with our Creator, who declares that it is He who is free from all needs worthy of all praise.
