Indian and Pakistani singer's has complex voice texture. Because they rehearse in that way from their childhood. But as a foreigner she did a tremendous job.
Complex voice texture......I have never , ever come across such a term in all my life. I didn't know voice has texture. We are all always learning. This is far too complex for me. If you guys travel out of India.... you will be amazed at the number of non Indians who can sing Indian songs.
@@malgudidays3311 I am not denying that non Indians aren't trying Indian songs! But you need to have that listening ability to differentiate . May be you can hear in this video, her voice is coming flat when the "harqats" are taken. This is not for her accent! It is about how her voice had been trained from her childhood. Indian singer or Pakistani singers when they start learning classical, they break their voice and restructure it. That's why I said that Indian and Pakistani singers has different voice texture.
Foreign ? She is not a foreigner, she is a musician, trained in Indian music. That word foreign....pffff.......i am sorry, my reaction is a bit too much i know, but i am a Hindu and i hate Modi, and i cannot tell anybody, so i will tell it here. You see, art is life, vedic is life, but in a huge huge countrie with so many flavours and languages, who the fuck is foreign ? Thes people who call them selves hindu but are caught up in rituals and superstition, i might give blood or a kidney to someone from Pakistan or Israel, and that kidney will work, so wtf is foreign ?
To see a non native speaker sing one of the hardest songs like this is absolutely mind blowing you just made magic right here. This is why music has no barriers at all its the one language that everybody speaks and understands better than any other language.
@@bombayvega7021 Language of the Mughal empire, no such thing as India, just an indian union with multople independent countries, with nothing in common, just like soviet union.
I am not Indian, but I listen a lot Indian music, and Indian technique of singing gamakas is amazing and also very complex. They are probably the most complex kind of ornamentations I ever heard.
It's a very complicated classical song.... But how she sang the song is amazing.... Her voice is also so heart touching.... The guitarist is also fantastic.
You're singing raags in my mother tongue. You're reaching straight for the 4000 watts power line that is Rahat Fateh Ali. Highly impressive. Keep walking....
Tanya Wells is classically trained and is the Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu etc. 'voice' in all of Nitin Sawhney's hits. Thank you for your timelessly ascendant work Tanya. Stay beautiful, blessed and singing.
She sings as if she knows the meaning of each and every word. Very deep , soulful and she has given a new voice to the song which extensively touches your heart.
i usually don't comment on RU-vid, but your pronunciation of the Urdu language compelled me to do so. Your performance was amazing, and the guitarist did justice to the song.
This is not an easy song to sing, on the top of it if you are not a native speaker , what this beautiful girl just did is a wonder. hats off and very weldone beautiful girl
You are awesome. I never imagined a foreigner to be this precise in notes, pitch and pronounciation of Indian songs. What u are doing is absolutely tremendous and difficult. May god belss and fulfill all your legit desires.
I don't know what to say but I must. To sing such a difficult song by a great singer like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan in a language other than your native language and execute it so beautifully alongside just a guitar absolutely deserves huge applause. It takes huge courage and confidence to do that. Beautiful !! Thanks !!
Her voice took me by the throat and buried me.. It's so freaking beautiful, as an Indian I swear it's so soulfully sung. Felt this version stir my heart
And you sang in non native language so beautifully with absolute accuracy in pronunciation......just wow!!! You didn't dishearten Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan; and a justice to this beautiful song. Guitarist no exception 👍👍👍
When she sang, my mouth dropped.. omg... wow... its not easy singing like that... a lot of indians learn this type of singing as a young child before they get that rhythm right. I wont say she nailed it but it is almost perfection. Beautiful voice and such respect and love towards indian music. Indian music is a very spiritual journey and so we indians do not take that lightly. It is God like.
Wow i am truly impressed! She's not even a native speaker of the language - thanks for keeping the spirit of NFAK the legend alive with this incredible tune!
A lot of pakistani can not even speak urdu properly. The fact that she is not a native speaker and delivers the song with a slight minute western tone deserve a lot of credit. Well Done
To all those musicians with with western influence who are here " you have a good taste of music and for those about to rock... I salute you!" -Mahatma Gandhi, Drummer, Nirvana..
All these years i lived thinking no one, no westerner could sing Indian. that it was too much for them. Madam, you just proved me wrong. Wow. that was extraordinarily good. love from India
Western singers can never grasp the intricacies of Indian notes and it’s music as it’s in a class of its own. But her rendition is deserved of kudos of trying to grasp the tunes and pronunciations. Indian music is truly soul food.
my mind is blown omg this is amazing her pronounciation and the way she is singing, if i heard just the audio i would be able to tell if indian/pakistani singer she did a tremendous job, even the alaps she took were truly amazing
Where was it since 1 year …. Randomly found it and I must say she sung fantastic ….. yes non native always had a problem in feelings and emotions but she is just awesome in every word of this song …. Take a big salute MAM
@@randomoutdoors8872 this song was written by Jaideep Sahni in Hindi. Not letting the Muslims steal it by claiming Sufi or Urdu shit. Go google it. A Muslim just performs it and that is it.
I haven't heard Indian songs or reaction to Indian songs in like 3 weeks and RU-vid recommended me this video, sometimes RU-vid recommendations give gems.
Tanya is just fantastic. I listen to songs sung in Urdu only by her and everything I go and listen to the original singer, I come back to listening to Tanya
Wow as I am Indian ....... It was in my fav song ......Am getting goosebumps ur just perfect.....ur pronounciation.....ur expression ...... punctuation ..... Rythem...... Soul touching voice ....... 🥰❣️💞❤️
This is something amazing and beyond imagination...Literally got stunned to watch the song. I am a foreign language teacher and know very well how difficult it is to do such kind of superb performance in any another language. Thank you Seven Eyes"" for this amazing effort..
This is a very superior performance..... even while I am watching this I can’t believe it sounded so real .i am sure she’s worked very hard to reach this level . Kudos
Been listening to this on repeat since I commented. Have you spent a lot of time in India or learnt Hindi/Urdu? Your pronunciations are flawless. This version has that minimalistic beauty. Not overburneded by the instruments (not saying the original had too much, it's just a different vibe), soothing and calm. @@SevenEyes
