Yeah theres a reason. In a past life, you have heard something with the same message as this. Now, it manifests to you in this life in this form. You're finding yourself again. Either that, or everything i just said is actually horseshit and you're trying to seem deep for internet points. It's a toss up. 50/50
The Innocents is perhaps the greatest horror movie to have ever hit the screen. It's from the 60's, but can still compete with films much younger. No jump scares (startling moments, but not the cheesy kind) and no gore. It's just a remarkably eerie ghost story that I can sit and watch over and over again.
This version of the song gives me a feeling I had when I was a little kid watching RU-vid videos about disney princesses turning into zombies it's a weirdly comforting feeling
What's the history of using the angelic voices of little girls singing and lullaby/music box songs in horror? I can't think of an earlier example before _The Innocents._
for some reason this gives me 2010’s nostalgia? i also imagine this being sang outside on a cloudy autumn day with leaves on the ground. very interesting song to me.
if someone starts singing this song in the middle of the street at night, 1 I appreciate their taste in music, 2 I blow their head off with my sawed off shotgun.
Dress all in black from head to toe, wear a long wig that covers your face (unless you already have long hair), and sing it in a child-like voice. 👧 In a cemetery. 🪦 At 3 a.m. in the morning. 🕒 Under a full moon. 🌕 I dare you!
Watch the original movie, "the innocents",,based on the book The Turn of the Screw. For an old black&white movie,it ranks up there with all the modern scary movies, better than most actually
Now that Netflix new series has this on their new horror flick, I’m afraid this is now doomed to be a horror tune. I do hear the sadness which could either translate to scary or morning the dead 💀 Similarly to what director James Wan did with “you are my sunshine” lullaby. It’s originally intended to be a family friendly tune but unfortunately new generations now tremble upon hearing. Either way, it’s a sad af lullaby...
I’ve seen it when it premiered here down under not too long ago actually. I agree, it’s unlike a typical horror movie but more so of a dragged on version of the haunting hill. Many of the acting especially when it neared the last x3 episodes got more and more mediocre imho, especially with talents that have shown in the past that their range impeccable. Sadly that wasn’t shown here for said people. I personally didn’t enjoy haunting of bly manor as much as the haunting hill since that was 👌🏼 very well done. Also, seeing Netflix recycle ♻️ cast in this level is personally not my thing tbh. Which is the very reason(s) why Haunting of Bly Manor will be remembered by me and my circles as a meh flick sadly. Ironic really. They made a very somber meh feeling show which will be remembered just that at best imo. Hey, at least I learnt a pretty cool lullaby out of it 🤷🏻♂️
I always play this the first time I invite women to my private log cabin deep in the woods where it is eerily quiet. Lol their reactions always get me haha
Alright but this plays in the escape room I work at and I have to listen to it over and over for a good solid 30 minutes while stuck in a room. Now I cant watch bly manor because they use it and work has scarred me
we lay my love and I, beneath the weeping willow. but now alone I lie and weep beside the tree singing oh walo walley by the tree that weeps with me signing oh walo walley till my lover returns to me. We lay my love and I, beneath the weeping willow. but now alone I lie. oh willow I die. Oh willow I die.
As wanted to change my comment into a reverse on purpose but that's not why I want to tell you what would happen if you put this in reverse I just wanted to tell you what would happen if you put the song in reverse sometimes reverse can have something like evil scary or messed up things or something that might not make sense
@@woodlandhexXxXx I would _love_ to dream of this song! 🖤 'O Willow Waly' song sounds very much like a traditional folk song, but it was actually written for the 1961 gothic horror film *The Innocents* (based on the novella *The Turn of the Screw* by Henry James). Music by Georges Auric, lyrics by Paul Dehn (the pair had previously written songs for the 1952 film *Moulin Rouge* ). The vocalist is Isla Cameron, doing her darndest to sound like a haunted little girl - and she succeeds... 👻
