Lyrics
O yet we trust that somehow good will be the final goal of ill, to pangs of nature, sins of will, defects of doubt, and taints of blood, That nothing walks with aimless feet; that not one life shall be destroyed, or cast as rubbish to the void when God hath made the plan complete.
Behold, we know not any thing; We can but trust that good shall fall at last, far off, at last, to all, and every winter turn to spring. Our little systems have their day; They have their day and cease to be. They are but broken lights of Thee, and Thou, O Lord, art more than they.
Let knowledge grow from more to more, But more of reverence in us dwell; that mind and soul, according well, may make one music as it was before. O we are fools and ever slight; We mock Thee when we do not fear; So help thy foolish ones to bear; Help thy vain worlds to bear the light.
