I 've got one of those cars - a Rolls Canardly. It rolls down hills and can hardly get up them. Sorry about that - my Grandad used to tell us that one back in the 50s.
They do. My late Father in law had a gas powered Austin Lancer with a V6 Capri engine that got him banned from several hill climb events in New South Wales, because it was too psycho. Or maybe his behviour was. I'm not sure.
@@GreenCanvasInteriorscape we do. We also have hotrod runs, and ute shows. All British days, all American days, all Australian days. They're all over the internet.
It took place in a small village (pop. circa 600) called Oakamoor, on the river Churnet, in the Staffordshire Moorlands district. It's an interesting place, nestled in a steep valley. Used to have two pubs - The Cricketers Arms and The Lord Nelson, but the latter closed a few years ago iirc. There's evidence it's had iron-working activity on and off since the thirteenth century.
Yeah, I love those things! Minor dream of mine is to have a V12 one in British Racing Green. If it could have the Lister 7 litre engine, that would be a bonus, but a 5.3 with six Webers would be cool as well!
Quite a lot of smoke as some of the older entrants crest the hill. No E-Types you might have noticed. We're keeping ours hidden for a few more weeks and then watch out!
The trouble with alot of the older specialist marques is that alot of the expert mechanics are now retiring and with it goes their expertise. They could recommend what parts to use and not everyone can afford to send their car to some specialist mob like crostwaithe and gardiner, Im afraid in the next 30 years alot of the prewar iron is going to become museum pieces as the grandkids arent interested in them and they are worth over 100 grand so im not taking it a risk with it outside...
@@shoominati23 Sell it now!! HMRC are now linking up with DVLA as too many folk keep talking about investment value of classics etc blah blah so they will have their cut for IHT its the owners own fault bragging about values the HMRC are onto this you have been warned !
@@Birashanuman Thanks, it's a good-looking car and I really like the way the exhaust is split. And then it's a "Jag" on the inside. What's not to like?
Bonjour a tous du Canada When i see old roadster with mufffler and exaust pipe beside the car it's not smart people specialy children can burn if he touch it it's a good reason why modern car have this piece of equipement under the car
Its not an episode of Top Gear - these people own, cherish and love their cars and want to keep them that way - I once mistakenly lent a car to TG and it came back broken - and no they didn't pay for the damage - these cars need looking after and driven this way with some moderate briskness they will - also it is difficult to determine the incline on film - this is avery steep incline - and these people are not racing drivers they are just ordinary passionate enthusiasts with no points to prove. Enjoy it for what it is and if you don't find it fast enough try drag racing?
it's an informal day out, not a full on competition. classic cars made work a bit harder than they usually do, very nice to see. for speed, go to santa pod when top fuel is on, standing still to 300 MPH in less than 4 seconds.
It's a one in four gradient, and old motors, some of them needing to be looked after - you seem to be forgetting that. Anyway, it's not that kind of race.
Sadly from 2030 on all the combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in EU :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one single state operated peoples gas station per city. :-(
Thank fk we are not in the EU then LOL....now tell me which Countries they are going to dig up for all the Lithium....that needs fossil fuel to make it work...collapsing ponzi scheme, nothing more
@@markholroyde9412 The greens and friday for future international associates stated that the personal mobility in tze EU has come to an end...they even just wont selling electric cars to anybody only to carpools
Not true. Production of combustion engine driven cars will end in 2030 and in 2050 they will be banned from traffic. In Germany the Green Party is not in the position to give any order. In case the green party will get government contract, they will fulfill the already by grand coalition decided carbon tax based price increase as soon as possible. There is no such plan like reducing petrol stations as none of them are state operated. They habe never been. State price fixing endes in the early 1980s. Greetings from Germany
@@Schlipperschlopper LMAO, stop being a primary "scaremonger", it aint happening, it will be forever pushed back ....there is NO infrastructure and no one dare commit to funding it.....found an endless supply of Lithium yet?....i'll wait...
Yes, that's what caught my eye. (As I'm sure it did most.) OK, so what is it? I've got the plate, but I'm curious of the make & model. Looks like it was designed/built for racing. Please don't tell me it's a kit. Anyway, it looks like a nicer "more British version" of the Shelby Cobra.
@@BoydCooperLegend Thanks! Yeah, I was thinking it was a kit, and it does look a little "Jagish". Maybe it's the rims. Love the pipes! I've got a '72 XJ6 I've been wondering what to do with. Hmm...
Oh the romance the sounds...... imagine if the computernerds get their way and everything is electric, silent hearses showing their wares, totally and utterly boring !!!!!
The "Slow Pokes" can make these kinds of films less interesting. I want noise. I want speed. I don't want a funeral procession. Otherwise, I love the cars.
