It’s sort of difficult to compare Oakland and Detroit. Detroit had so many jobs shipped overseas, and that’s what led to crime and the decline of that city. What’s happening in Oakland is just anarchy. It’s like the Wild West out there. It wasn’t the loss of jobs, it’s the fact that the DA and mayor pretty much reward criminal behavior, so there isn’t a fear factor of getting caught

Not all that bad. When Waffle House closes due to crime, then you've hit rock bottom. A town over there was one off the highway, small town, that had regular thefts, shots fired, and police there regularly. Still kept on going, even with tweakers using in the bathroom and some robberies. Crazy place, you couldn't have paid me to go there at all. I was surprised they didn't lose their business license for all the crap that happened on their property... all the police calls. There was a hotel nearby that lost their permit for less.

Having traveled for McD's scouting out new locations, (we are a independent company that contracts with McD's) we are limited to how many big city McD's they will have. McD's does close restaurants, All that is left in major cities are some store front ones, the rest are in the suburbs. McD isn't stupid enough to open in an unsafe area. They may have some in the bad areas, but their days are numbered.

Not McDonald's, Wafflehouse. They don't close for anything.

It’s crazy to hear about big chain stores and restaurants closing in large urban areas. Where I live you trip over them lol. Within 5 miles of my house in FL there’s at least a dozen grocery stores of 4 chains and I couldn’t even count the restaurants either local, chain or fast food.

Criminals can NOT care less. If they “can care less,” they can still care at least a little, but they can’t (can NOT).

Community leaders can not make a business stay open. They can beg and plead, but in the end, they are not the owners,they dont pay the lease, and they do not pay the workers and they have no authority on what a person does when it comes to closing their business down. The only people to blame are the city leaders and the policies they put into place that caused the businesses to close and the criminals.

I am starting to doubt Price knows how to prosecute at all…

The governor, mayor and city director don't think that for the city, fire, Police, homeless shelters, hospitals, etc. anytime businesses close, they lose tax dollars which may, and should affect their raise they expect in the future.
