If the DA isn’t doing her job or is covering up for Black criminals by not prosecuting them or making sure they don’t serve time she should be fired or prosecuted for assisting criminals. Wow, there are no words for this. A judge is trying to do his job by sending a murderer to jail for the rest of his life and she is not only blocking him but trying to stoo him from being able to judge any other crimes and trying to lessen the sentence. I really believe she should be held accountable for her decisions and actions. What if she had a baby that was killed by a criminal shooter and not a one time offender. I live in Alameda County. I disagree with defunding the police. I have also signed the petition to recall DA Pamela Price. If the recall effort makes it onto the ballot next year I will vote yes. I will not support any DA who is more concerned about the rights and wellbeing of criminals than justice for crime victims and their families. Pamela Price conducts herself like a defense attorney or Public Defender, not like a prosecutor.

I know Judge McCannon personally and I cannot tell you how proud I am of him when all this came down. He is a wonderful man who understands his responsibility. When this DA started attacking him, he stood his ground and served his community. I am honored to call him a friend and hope more legal professionals follow his lead.
I left Hayward 10 years ago and I'm absolutely appalled at this DA. I'm 52 and was raised in Hayward. I saw things getting bad so I'm glad I left for Idaho. Tell the judge I salute him.

The biggest issue is that in an environment light on crime you run a high risk of organized crime developing. The huge increase in car theft is a clear sign of organized crime. You don't steal cars unless you have people who will fence them who are organized.

Watch and listen to some of James Lindsey's podcasts. They're LOOONG podcasts, but they make everything about leftism make sense. Man, I worked for a short time in the ghettos of Oakland back in the day, and got the opportunity to talk to many people in the worst neighborhoods. They all (not the gang bangers, of course), WITHOUT EXCEPTION, said that what they needed was more police presence and stiffer penalties for crime.
LA did exactly that in preparation for the 1984 Olympics. Worried about the visiting tourists becoming victims of crime around the LA Coliseum, they increased police patrols, including 2 officer foot patrols. Crime dramatically decreased. The people in the neighborhood wanted the increased police patrols to continue . They liked living in a safer neighborhood. But that would make too much sense. So after the Olympics, the city went back to the previous decreased police presence, and the crime rate went back up. Just think, an opportunity for less crime = fewer arrests needed = officers can focus more time on solving crimes & making arrests = lower crime rates = fewer people in prison over time = the justice system can catch up on prosecutions and actually deliver speedy trials. = less crime . A win win win. Oh, and eventually a much safer neighborhood with less tax dollars needed to pay for prosecuting and keeping people in prison.
As a resident of Oakland, I am completely dissatisfied with the level of protection of property by the justice system. Shes an activist criminal defense attorney who has no business on the prosecutorial side of the law. She will be recalled.

What many people fail to realize, is nothing happens in isolation. Ever since the do nothing about shoplifting policies, I have noticed a significant uptick in bad behavior in other areas. Specifically I see more people violating traffic rules. Once people think well I'm not going to get punished if I do this, what is the incentive to do the correct thing. None! Where's judge dredd and robocop when you need them? Allowing anarchy for so long is only going to lead to the need for stricter law enforcement in the long run. Best to fix it before we get to that point.

I work in oakland for a public agency and was actually growing comfortable in Oakland in 2018 to 2021 but since then things have been getting worse. You call 911 and are placed on hold for 10 minutes before speaking to someone, you wait hours, sometimes days for an officer to respond and you hardly see any patrol vehicles on the city streets. Between the Mayor Libby Schaaf and this woke prosecutor things are intolerable. I cant even stop my work truck to run into a shop to get coffee or something to eat because it will either be broken into or stolen, and thats almost guaranteed. I keep my head on a swivel and avoid speaking to or making eye contact with anyone since that is a sign of disrespect to these entitled putzes in Oakland. When I heard they were collecting signatures for a recall I sought out a spot they were doing it at and happily signed. I hope its successful. Oakland can not go on much longer with this crime...Bernard Goetz will become our poster child for protecting ourselves My only saving grace is I have 6 more months give or take to retirement and will happily pack my van and head east out of this god forsaken state

The idea that cutting funding to an organization will lead to it being better is just so absurd. The US has its pecularities, but isn't that different from other countries. What did other countries do to combat police corruption/brutality? They invested; in programs to teach de-escalation, establishing protocols and internal reporting, changing hiring standards and other things. In the end you get what you pay for. If you do not tolerate bad apples and stop hiring people that are mentally unfit to handle the responsibility of law enforcement you'll have fewer recruits so you have to make that up by offering benefits and good pay. In the end isn't it worth it to have law enforcement that serves and protects?

These people look at crime on paper and think they understand what crime does to the victims, the neighborhood, and society. They don't.
Soros is right, the most important offices on the ballot are on the bottom. The most important is the school board, how kids are educated affect how they vote in the future. Then DA, Judges, city council, mayor and finally Gov. The Pres is mostly responsible for foreign policy.
