Henson has excellent timing. Releases pressure at just the right time. You both seem to have a quiet way around the horses. It shows. I think that is one of the things that I really like about this channel, not a lot of screaming and yelling.

That thumbnail is a really iconic picture. Nice choice. Oakley is a standout gray. Almost like a chrome buckskin. Pretty mare. You guys do an excellent job. I couldn't continue horse training after a pretty nasty few back surgeries following an injury, so being able to watch through you all, is about as close as I've gotten to be for a long time. My lifestyle had to change unfortunately. You guys have much more experience than I did starting colts when I had to stop. I wasn't able to really get my program off the ground to where I was breeding QH's. If I had, I would have tried to go a very similar route. Bill Dorrance is my hero. Thank you all for giving me a chance to see a great program from the ground. You're really good folks. It's crazy how similar your ranch looks to the area I'm in, but a thousand miles north. I can almost smell the sage from here. All the best.

I am very impresses with your training methods Henson. You are quiet, gentle, patient, but firm. I know each horse is different and have to be handled according to their unique personality. That is where your training excels. Oakley is a fine young mare and appears to be very intelligent. It is always a pleasure to work with horses like that. I am also impressed with how you handle your youngsters. They learn quickly to trust you and they warm up to you right away. Great job. Keep up the good work. From a gaited horse lover.

Oakley is a really nice mare that’s coming along great, she wanted to get a little hinky right after she was anticipating going into the first lope but she settled down and really likes to face you. Hinson I really like your style of starting a colt or filly, I used a lot of your techniques, like a longer lead working it on their hip and around their legs, belly and over their head. Gets them used to a rope and also having their legs touched, plus flapping the stirrups and skirts on their side really gets them used to that saddle! I enjoy watching your videos, keep it up! The trailers most people have are one or two horse. you lead them in, back them out. In one of the big ones, when they are under control, turning to go out may be OK, but if you have ever been drug from a stall or trailer by a strong horse, lunging forward, you will never try it a second time. Safety is first.

Beautiful mare, good to watch her being trained and her confidence grow. Is everyone in the extended family Navajo and is the ranch Indian or private land? That dog is amazing how he runs around the round pen like he's training the horses.

One thing about it you know what kind of horse you have when you lay off them couple days you will see if they retain what they learned even if it's just a couple of days you messed with them

Is she a 2 year old 🤔 Can you please talk about what age is good for starting a colt or filly,, I always thought that it should be after they are 3 years old.. I know that it is good to socialize them and halters, standing tied up. Like vets complain about starting race horses to soon, because their legs are not fully melded together .. You and Henson are sure very calm and that helps a lot with young horses..

How do you get your horse used to spurs?

Has a horse ever started really bucking while either of you were training or breaking a horse? What size of horse will support an adult before training like this? Love the process and care for the horse.

Very nice Horse. But i like to tell something here. We never tie up Horses on a Knot Halter. Its dangerous. They are good for leading, training Grozndwork or riding. But in a Horsetrailer we use the wider, regular Halters.
