He says it because the song they played before Cast No Shadow was Whatever (cut from the broadcast). Whatever ended with a snippet of All the Young Dudes by David Bowie and Whatever itself was subject of a lawsuit because of the similarities to How Sweet to Be an Idiot by Neil Innes. The lawsuit ended with Innes getting co-writing credit. Hence the «let’s carry on with one that I wrote» line.
@@EJ2K2K Yes, except that I just discovered that Cast No Shadow was actually played before Whatever and not after like I thought 😅 Hmmm… still could make sense in a way? He was constantly being accused of stealing, so the quote could be a reference to that at least. Sorry for the confusion!
