@@toadsortoes9230 He played exactly what needed to be played, that in my book, coming from a musician, makes him a top bassist. Nothin worse than jammin in a group where the bass player starts going off on one, sends the rest of the band on one aswell.
since i read tony mccarrolls book my opinion on guigsy changed a lot. i knew he was a very limited bass player and founded oasis back in 91 but i didnt know he was such a pain in the ass to mccarroll.
Jörg-Detlef Rockefeller horrible bastard who turned on his mate and original band member to side with sir Noel. I love Noel's music but he's a complete cock to people around him. He shafted oasis from the word go.
apparently it was because he was a massive pot head so his playing was all over the place but listening to them live like supersonic he's not too bad tbh
guigsy was a decent bass player, pothead and football fan. he played on definitely maybe and what's the story morning glory....don't really need to know anything else do we?
To me? Oasis is and will always be Noel, Liam, Bonehead, Guigsy and Alan White ( no disrespect to Tony but c'mon, Alan rocked it). Those 5 were Oasis at the peak of their powers and if you could just get the 5 in a room, no cameras, no management, no writers and let them just start bullshitting, i GUARANTEE you'd have a Reunion in 2hrs
they should wake up and go again ...the new guys were great but the tension between Liam and Noel is all in the musicians line up ...Liam knew what worked with Noel's skills but Noel wanted perfection ....he would replace Johnny rotten with Mario lanza....
The band wanted him to stay just because he was their mate, to the fans it would have made no difference if he left, they could have just replaced him with a better bassist
I imagine the Gallagher brothers dominated and bullied the fuck out of all band members when they got so big it became all about the Gallagher brand and not Oasis anymore. After that , there was only each other to turn against….look what happened then.
It was guigsy who was meant to be the biggest bully in the band. Noel was a bully as well but with liam- lots of people who have worked with him say hes fine, even a bit quiet and distant with band members
For me the true OASIS are Noel and Liam Gallagher, Alan White, Bonehead and Guigsy! I mean these lads were just suitable Oasis members! I quite like Gem and their last drummer but Andy, nah...
The true oasis is definitely maybe as it pisses on morning glory and it's one of the greatest rock albums in history and guess what Alan white didn't drum on it
they was not called oasis wen noel joined the band b cos he ws the song wrtier it dont make him the boss there manager is the boss am going to get a pet rat and call it noel
gary pring the official contract from Sony deemed Noel the boss. He shafted his own band. They only got 20% of royalties to split. Noel and record execs took the rest.
