Bonehead is such a good bloke. Luckily got to meet him watch his band and have a pint with the fella afterwards. Top bloke. Judging by what i saw he deserves far more credit for that early Oasis sound than he gets. Hense after he left they sounded like a totally different band.
Always felt Bonehead was the most musical in the band behind Noel, of course. This guy could play 7+ instruments and was the greatest rhythm guitarist the band had ever had
Imagine being a spectator, from the first day, to the entire Oasis experience... Every rehearsal, every gig, every Liam / Noel row, every tour, Maine Road, Wembley, Knebworth.. in the words of Live Forever, he's seen things we'll never see.
"We found couple of top secret places that nobody knows" Cant be the only one who thought about Don't Look Back in Anger "Take me to the place where you go where nobody knows"
Always seems like the most down to earth member of Oasis. It’s a shame he wasn’t able to contribute to the songs cos I heard a couple of songs he collaborated on with Liam when they were in Rain, and they were pretty good. He was also a great rhythm guitarist, which seems to be a lost art form these days.
I really hope they don't reform without Tony, I think he did a brilliant job on Def Maybe, tons of swagger and attitude in his playing and kit sound

Back in the DM days, they were such a unique looking band. Male model, male model's slightly rougher looking brother, the balder. older plasterer (wearing a cardigan at times), the stoner on bass and the skinny mop top geezer on drums. I love the DM era and always hold Tony up as being Oasis's most important drummer. You see old photos of the band from the '94 period and you realize that Tony had as much attitude and aloof manc-ness as Liam and Noel. He was a genuine member of the gang and had the x-factor needed. More people need to watch Live By The Sea. He crushed that gig.
absolutely perfectly said sir, Tony was a massive part of their raw, threatening, confrontational sound, I wish he gets the recognition he deserves someday
Gee, I don't know about that. My Big Mouth has got some difficult chord changes. If Bonehead was the man who chose most of the chords for the songs, then he has a talent for making great simple music, straight to the point (the songs) without showing off. But I think Malcolm Young was on a higher level of skill. I would be over joyed for Bonehead if he got recognition for his guitar playing and he was put up there with the greats such as Malcolm Young, John Lennon, Keith Richards ect
They tried to get Guigsy to talk when they did the Definitely Maybe 10th Anniversary DVD, but he said no. There's an easter egg on the DVD of them all talking about their memories of being around Guigsy, with the letter he sent in response to their request to interview him - Basically, he grew to enjoy the privacy and a quieter life after he left Oasis, and thought going public again might spoil all that. Fair enoug, but it is a shame he didn't. Even Tony McCarroll did the DVD!
Genuinely cool, genuinely nice genuinely a living fuking legend. 11th April '94 supersonic was released. I was just shy of 15 listening to all the crap out at that time , then bang there was oasis, never looked back. Maine road to the etihad I can happily say I was there right bang in the middle of it all, the 90's where mental. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Love bonehead. Think he brought a down to Earth and a bit more of a modest aspect whilst the two brothers were off on a mad one - made me laugh when he asked if he remembers it cos the other two defo don’t 😂
Sadly he is right..... There won't ever be another band like Oasis. The music industry has changed so much since then. I can't see another guitar band achieving 8 UK number 1 singles and 8 UK albums, being mobbed at airports, making the front covers of papers, constantly being on the national news for whatever reason, people being filmed queuing to buy their records on first day of release, record breaking gigs, fastest-selling records, and just general love and adoration from the people. The list goes on but what Oasis achieved won't be matched again by guys with guitars in the UK and much of the world. Can't see it.
Geezer! Probably plays himself down a bit too, all things considered it was when he left that the music went downhill, so he mustve been doing something right.
I think an Oasis reunion will happen when they’re all in their late 60’s for one last pay day. It’ll be terrible, but everyone will pay to see them regardless. Personally I hope they don’t but money talks.
I always have news about Bonehead (and i love it), but does anyone know where is Guigsy or Alan White? I mean I've never seen guigsy since 1999 (when he left Oasis), and i've never seen Alan since 2004 (when he left Oasis). I still can't watch the film. So, anyone know if Alan or Guigsy speak on Supersonic? If no, is there any news of them? PS: My fav line-up is Liam, Noel, Bonehead, Guigsy and Alan (Tony was really good but...Alan is Alan)
Alan's brother Steve said that he became a property developer when he got sacked from Oasis. He's now moved out of London and lives in the country with his girlfriend and 2 kids. Not sure about Guigs though.
Álvaro .CR Guigsy wrote a football book a few years back and was interviewed on football focus (BBC). He had grey hair and still liked Cricket. Alan is a great bloke but bloody lazy. His brother Steve told me he had so much talent but never practiced outside band and got really lazy. Someone also said they saw him once a few years ago and he was really fat.
If ever they get back together its original line up with alan white. Noel Liam Gwiggsy Bonehead Alan white That would be the only line up that mattered
What a guy ! Top bloke!! I was gutted when he left ( & Guigs ) & it never seemed quite right after. I know Gem & Andy are probably better guitar players but he was a big part of oasis & looking back he did leave at the exact right time. I hope the original band re-unites but I don't think Noel will yet & Guigsy won't ever I dunt think
Lets face it... drummers, bassist, and guitarists.... are interchangable.....As Oasis proved. Noel and Liam were the band. Many youngsters dont even know about the original line up.
@@darrenthomas7402 That was almost another band. Even the brothers said it. First three closed a cycle. They were originally supposed to break up after BHN. That was the original plan.
Unfortunately not yes! If you’d ask John Lennon in the years after the roof top gig if they will get back together he said no unless there a reason! Then the paperatzi came along and oasis thank goodness ignored allot and were rock n roll! Now, it’s impossible to be rock n roll and make it I’d say cos your record label won’t promote you! Gerry cinnamon is the last chance cos he’s does have a record label! However that’s the worry they had in the late 80’s that rock n roll can’t come back.. and look… rock n roll will never die!!!
alreadythere1993 dude no, Oasis without Noel is at best Beady Eye and at worst a goddamn cover band. Its got to be both Gallaghers or neither, full stop.
I think if the reunion took place it would of course have to be bonehead and guigsy but I think Alan over tony I love tony's style but alan adds a whole new dimension to that band
If they were to have a reunion I would bring Gem AND Bonehead back. No harm in having an extra rhythm guitar. As for drummer it would have to be Alan White. As for bass, I could give two shits - Guigsy or Andy Bell, either would do.
