My husband and I watched your video this morning over Saturday breakfast. We are cruising on Oasis at the end of July. I just want to say how much we enjoyed your personality. I told Robert I hope we cross paths with you and your family one day. Thank you for an entertaining and just overall great video.
@@unclecarney1526 Hello! :) Overall, we had a great cruise. This was the largest ship we've ever sailed on, and were just wowed at all she has to offer. I don't know what your personality is, but if you don't mind crowds, you probably won't be too overwhelmed if the ship is completely booked out. On our cruise, there were 6500 guests onboard. As introverts, we were a bit overwhelmed the first few days. lol So, I do have a few suggestions that might help you: 1) If you go to the Windjammer on Embarkation Day, head all the way to the back to find a table. A crewmember gave us that tip, and it worked out well for us. There were plenty of available seats with great views. We made it to the Windjammer about 3:00 p.m. 2) If everyone in your party is 12 years old and up, you can have breakfast in the Solarium Bistro. They are open on port days until 1:00 p.m. On sea days, it closes at 10:30 a.m. There was never a huge line like at the Windjammer and Main Dining Room. Of course there are other venues for breakfast, but we preferred the Solarium Bistro above all of the others. 3) We had no issues making reservations for the shows. However, we found where those without reservations could be allowed in to see the shows provided there were open seats. They opened it up to non-reservations about 10 minutes or so before the show began. We actually saw Frozen in Time twice, with the second time scooting into Studio B at the last minute as non-reservations. 4)The absolute best place to eat onboard is Portside BBQ. We have seen others rave about El Loco Fresh. It is really good. But we think Blue Iguana on Carnival is better because the food is mostly made fresh. At El Loco Fresh, it isn't. However, it is absolutely worth eating at El Loco Fresh. But don't miss Portside BBQ! :) :) Those are things off the top of my head. lol I am currently editing our first video for our cruise, an overview of every day onboard. If I can get it done and uploaded on our channel before your cruise, I'll pop back over here and let you know in case you want to check it out. If you're wondering about anything else, just let me know. Hopefully, I'll have an answer for you! (Melinda)
Let me comment again and say the price you paid is a steal!! We just came back a week ago and are going through cruises blues. We paid a little more than double but we all had the best time on our very first cruise!! Thanks for sharing your experience on the Oasis. Love how your family gets along and actually participates in the vlog. My family goes silent and goes awal when I'm about to vlog.
I’m going on Oasis of the seas tomorrow from Cape Liberty and this helped a lot with the embarkation process. Didn’t know you had to pay for parking so that it good to know as well! Thank you for posting this!
This is an amazing ship and Cape Liberty is an easy terminal to go through. You will have a great time. Let me know how it went when you return. I'll be posting more vidoes as I get them edited so subscribe (if you have not) and stay tuned.
I love this video!!! It's cool you guys got to visit New Jersey. Hopefully liberty state park does not close because people want to make a golf course out of it.
This ship feels like being in a good resort but at Sea. Perfect combination. It has many included and extra charge venues to satisfy everyone's needs and cruising stile. It is awesome for families too. The shows are incredible.
Hi, just found your channel. We will be sailing out of New Jersey on Anthem of the Seas. Can I ask what hotel you stayed in? How long from the hotel to the cruise port was the drive? Thanks!! We live in Ontario, Canada, we are driving to the port the day before the cruise, so we are looking for a hotel to stay at. Looking forward to watching your vlogs.
Hi. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. We love the Anthem of the Seas. You will have a great time on it. We stayed at Woodbridgespring Suites in Elizabeth. It is 26 min from the port. Nothing special about it but it is nice, clean, and at a good rate for the area.
Sailing on Anthem of the Seas next May to England from Bayonne. Coming over from Australia for it but before that I am going to Hawaii to sail back to Sydney Australia on Ovation of the Seas. That's in about six weeks time. Hope you and your family had a great cruise on Oasis of the Seas.
The weather was perfect. It rain one afternoon for 10 min. You'll see that in an upcoming video. I could not feel the ship at all. We were mid ship on Deck 12. Enjoy your trip.
For us in the US, as far as I know you do not need to submit the test. You bring it with you to the port as proof. Don't forget bringing the vaccine card hard copy too. Happy sailing.
Hey Hey Hey! Great video! We're sailing Oasis in 5 days and are super excited! It will be our second Oasis Class ship and we'll be bringing 30 friends with us! Thanks for the parking info. We thought we'd be able to park in the deck. Just subscribed. Good luck with the channel! We'll be vlogging our trip next week too. Hope to See Ya on the Seas! - Brian & Julie
Excellent. Glad I could help. Can you right me back when you return? Please let me know if you find a mess with lines at the My Time dining at the MDR the first night.
Once I entered the terminal it to about 10 minutes. The are very good at moving the crowd through. I did have negative test printed and had filled out and provided our photos in the app. The kids under 12 line was not to bad either. They asked if they were vaccinated and pulled us right out when we showed proof. We were ther only 5 min.
With luck. I was looking and looking for the right price an a ship, not a specific ship. This was a group rate I found through a large online agency. They get ridiculously low prices from time to time for a small number of cabins. You just have to go over the entire internet to find them your self constantly. An agent can't help with this. I've tried.
@@bestatsea1415 that’s good to hear, glad your ok!! I’ve had it twice, not worried about it anymore. Where did you test before the cruise? Did you do the at home test, if so which one?
