I check out, discuss, and react to Oasis' Stop Crying Your Heart Out. I am not very familiar with Oasis, but this song alone might have changed that. Original Content Link: • Oasis - Stop Crying Yo...
Yes... the most real look at what really happened in oasis, and what the Gallagher’s were really like. I love how it ends in Knebsworth ‘96 n all - all the best oasis years.
Vandy so true. Live Forever. Wonderwall. Slide away. Don’t look back in anger. Supersonic. Roll with it. Just a few of their great anthems. Not many bands have so many great songs as oasis.
@@casuallad735 Deeper down the Oasis rabbit hole you must go George. You you have to check out some of Noel's live stuff. it's on a whole new level of awesomeness. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RLfI24fM85o.html - Noel / Oasis MTV Unplugged 23.08.96 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tF-VBKnL37s.html - Noel Gallagher - The Dreams We Have As Children Live Royal Albert Hall 27-03-2007
Steve BB So true. I started listening when Wonderwall came out. My favorite band since then. They have so many great songs but all my friends/family didn’t get it. I guess the attitude and fighting of the brothers turned America off? I don’t know. Supersonic documentary is SO good. I’ve watched it like 10 times
I’m a 21 year old American and since I’ve heard Definitely Maybe, I’ve been slowly putting my friends on to em, definitely great drinking music at the barracks 🤙🏼
@The Senate no. Not really. Plus they are old men. Oasis were 20 something's setting the world on fire at a time where the UK was shitting great bands every week. U had to be here, it was a truly special time
@@davecarpenter2517 I'm 17 and from Manchester and wouldn't look out of place in the 90s because the fashion hasn't changed in Manchester especially since the stone roses and oasis
Oasis is guitar pop at it's finest. Super well crafted songs with tons of minor and 7th chords that always tune my heart stings into chords. Their B-sides are their best. So many hidden gems to find. Noel is one of my favorite writers of all time for melody and nobody could sing like Liam back then.. Idler's Dream, Live Forever, Talk Tonight, Let There Be Love are all great as well.
As somebody who is from Manchester, growing up you was taught to appreciate the good music. You was also raised listening to Oasis and knowing every single lyric and note to every song. Every party would consist of at least 5 oasis classics with the entire party 'singing their heart out'. My childhood wouldn't have been the same without these marvelous rock and roll stars. Also being a city fan, and these guys being the biggest fans of them all, really pushed my connection towards them even closer. Love Oasis, Love Manchester ❤ Great vids, keep them coming!
Question from another Oasis and City fan: during their solo careers, which of the brothers do you prefer? I've found my self listening to Liam much more to be honest.
@@BALLOTELLIAGUER Liams songs are what we want and use to and relate to..Noel has said he wants to diversify..his prerogative.. Noel's newer style not for me.but he has said how can he write songs about having no money job etc he would be lying..However Noel is the greatest singer / songwriter and guitarist of any generation..I'm just glad I saw them so many times and so many memories..Liam is still akin to the geezer down the boozer before the footie keeping his music similar style to what drew us all to Oasis Liam Best Front Man and singer of any generation..lots of teens getting into Oasis or Liam. Not heard many starting to like Noels new songs..Love both Gallagher Brothers !
Oasis broke though just when Nirvana ended. Just what the rock world needed when music fans were in mourning. They had a similar Beatles and Pistols influence, but with more uplifting, hymn-like tunes. So many of their songs are classic anthems. 😊
I was there too. Couldn't stand still throughout the whole show. Was dancing my heart out, especially during that VERY UNEXPECTED GAS PANIC. When he pulled that one out I nearly lost it! LOL!
I feel honoured z really honoured to have had a band like Oasis around during my younger days. They were the soundtrack to my youth. They had everything, the songs, the look, the attitude. Best band ever. No one has come close.
The Oasis rabbit hole is deep! They’ve got 30 great songs, maybe more……those first two albums plus the Masterplan are epic. Do some live versions bc they were amazing live from 94-99’. Maine Rd and Earls Court concerts in 96’ and 95’ were amazing. Lots of great lyric videos too……American radio did them a huge disservice w “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova”. Liam’s voice was so pure in that period and it worked perfectly w Noel’s songwriting.
@@jennifershelley6938 True, but the Beatles were mod too. I just say that because I've heard Noel mention the Beatles as one of his favorite bands besides the Stone Roses. Never heard him mention the Jam, he may be a fan, but they're so many allusions to the Beatles all over Oasis' music vids and sound it's hard to deny that they're the stronger influence here.
Oops both wrong..video shoots have costumes sometimes Liam does his Parka mod gear..but there dress style is not unique. When they formed performed it wasn't as Mods it's exactly same as thousands of lads young and old and me up and down the UK it was everyday wear for Football lads the clothes the trainers..they were just the same as us..In the UK it's called a Casual by the media so not your scarf wearing bobble hat fan..Liam does own a lambretta I believe ..they took the UK by storm and Cigarettes and alcohol was our two fingers up to the Establishment. Noel best songwriter and singer of his generation and Liam best Front Man Ever and a voice that was sublime. Legends
You have to listen to 'Morning Glory', has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. As others have said, they are massive fans of The Beatles which would explain the 'vintage look'. :)
Here's some facts about oasis: They're the greatest band on earth, still after all these years. They shaped a generation. Their music is untouchable. They changed lives, they changed the shape of the music scene. And finally they're amazing. HOOOOLD ONNNNNN
They are amazing but have to admit the reason the got that high that quick they had no competition and I'm not accepting blur as competition like noel said the stage was set for something if it wasn't us was gonna be something else
Oasis changed everything for such a long time, from what you listened to on the pub juke box to what trainers you wore on your feet to what you put up your nose on a Saturday night! Liam was a big fan of John Lennon from the Beatles so I think this influenced him massively. But check out the stone roses, it’s where it all started
sharp78 HTDC I have a theory that those albums came from a strong cultural movement that perhaps wasn’t felt or appreciated in the States. And as musicians often become better technically they lose that connection to the thing that made their music so relatable. I always think of the Arctic monkeys when considering the last point. Normal lads from Sheffield dressed like casuals and singing about nightclubs and fighting have suddenly become pantomime yanks.
Craig wells That’s true, yeah. Oasis weren’t relatable in the same way as the arctic monkeys, perhaps that was a clumsy comparison on my part. They sang about escape and existed as four people who achieved great things despite what they were born in to. The class system that exists within all our analysis is something the US don’t quite grasp and I feel like that’s what sets us apart. But maybe I’m wrong. The arctics dressed like me and Oasis dressed how I wish I looked. I’m thirty three and I still don’t look right in Clarks Wallabees! Hahah
@@ridew3072 i was 16 when definitely maybe came out, Oasis were so relatable to the working class at the time. Most British bands from the early nineties were middle class art school/uni types, who also in terms of appeal and popularity were over shadowed by the huge american bands at the time, Oasis felt like the first band of that generation who were one of our own.
@@ridew3072 There is the simple crystal meth at the whisky.. The need to smash America instead of teasing her gently.. No one distributed or peddled the first two albums quite as much as they could have been. America in that period were Cobain'd and hip hop'd and post eighties pop transition'd.. Entertained as fuck.. Snotty mancs as far as they were concerned..
I seen Liam Gallagher on Sunday night in Dublin, the best gig I’ve ever been too it was amazing! Listen to Stand by me, Morning glory, Columbia, Wonderwall. Liams latest solo album is also fantastic.
Some of my favourite bands are 1 Pink Floyd 2 The Rolling Stones 3 Jimi Hendrix Experience 5 The Beatles 6 Neil Young & Crazy horse. 7 Red hot chilli Peppers.
Liam is a massive Lennon fan. So much so he called his son Lennon!! Vintage look is a love of the Beatles. On the 90s they had a one sided rivalry with Blur !!!
Definitely re-listen to the first 2 albums! Check out some more Manchester bands too, it's one of the greatest musical cities on earth and has produced more rock stars per capita than any other city in the UK. Oasis, the Stone Roses, the Buzzcocks, the Verve, Joy Division, New Order, the Happpy Mondays. The list goes on and on.
Man being from the uk this takes me back to my teens.. has a feeling, takes me back to simpler times 😁, our music at its best though I was also into green day, offspring and pennywise before punk became pop, Oasis has a special place in my heart.Good times. Thanks for the vid.......always liked master plan!
Joe Eaves Yeah I had a whole romance with a girl based on me playing that to her at 5am in Majorca after a night of drink and coke fuelled utter waffle chatting.
As a Northern women Oasis were amazing ❤️I was in my 20s when they came out I’m 44 now! Are you reacting to more Oasis? Please do! Love From Northwest UK
I’m 52, my lads who are 27, 23 and 20 love them also! The brothers really hate each other, it’s all very sad. It’s a take on the mod look. Liam had a clothes company called pretty Green, he sold it a few years ago.
Great video, you should react to Oasis songs and then go onto watching them live because Oasis live is incredible. Not sure how much you know of them but Liam Gallaghers iconic stance, voice and the energy is all just increible
Love the reaction vids. A hidden gem from Noel’s last album was a song called dead in the water. Recorded live at a radio station on Dublin. A great vid is Slide away from Argentina the crowd is amazing. Enjoy
The whole of the British music scene at this time was vintage. Even older bands like Duran Duran were wearing this stuff. I was in college, and all the students were in 60s and 70s clothes from charity shops. It was an epic time to be a British teenager. A mini revival of the Beatles era but with a completely new set of bands. And they really were coming out one after the other. It was amazing how much great music there was. Even our parents' generation started to take notice. America REALLY doesn't know what it missed. I suspect that Americans might not have related to it because it was very specific to our culture and uniquely British - the themes of the songs and so on.
Love that you love Oasis .but you must have been somewhere else..Oasis wasn't vintage..Majority of Oasis fans male ( women different as they dont really get fashion ) were wearing sports wear and clothing like Burberry aquascutum lacoste. Levi's and the best trainers you could get and the majority were football lads who had been dressing this way since 1980s so when Oasis came along . They were dressing like us..into football like us they were us..Liam has done his bit of hippie but his main content is as akin to a Casual..In all my years I've never seen a hippie in a £800 jacket and a little bit of hippie may come out in his liking of Lennon..Maine Rd 10000s fans 5% hippies Fact
Best band ever to me. Melodic, rythmic, harmonic, lyrical, reproducible songs live, and 100 great songs. Unbeliveable live and an incredible story to boot.
Yes! Oasis! Love this band. Check out one of their lesser known songs called "Gas Panic". It has an eerie feel to it and a beautiful melodic guitar solo by Noel. Sounds like his guitar is weeping. Since Oasis split up the brothers are still putting out great music, just not in the same band anymore. Liam Gallagher just released a second solo album titled "Why Me Why Not" that's really good. His 1st solo album "As you Were" is really good too. Noel Gallagher has a band called High Flying Birds and my favorite album from them is "Chasing Yesterday". All of the Oasis albums are great. My favorite is "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants" and it includes the Gas Panic song, but I love their other albums too. Liam Gallagher was heavily influenced by John Lennon and so that is why Oasis has such a retro vibe. They were often called the Beatles of the 90s. I saw them live in 2005 and they were awesome.
Oasis adopted the "Mod" look from the early sixties in Britain, exemplified by bands like The Who and The Small Faces (and mythologized in The Who's Quadrophenia). In the punk era, The Jam and their singer Paul Weller also sported the Mod style. Paul has kept it up to this day, and has a lot of musical ties with Oasis and Noel Gallagher.
Liam styles himself after John Lennon. They actually even had the son of Ringo Starr on their drums at one point. Zak Starkey. It's a good band. They earned their spot in music history and have inspired so many bands that have come after them. Definitely hope you do more of these. Also, the brothers solo work is quite good too.
This is probably about 30th on the list of best Oasis songs. You really gotta try songs from either of their first two albums and the singles from those albums to hear them at their best. They went downhil from their third album onwards. But that early period had some amazing tracks.
You probably won't see this, but in my circle of friends, back in the nineties, "vintage" was the thing..... hippie grunge was the fashion, sort of combining the sixties look with the grunge look and there was an authenticity to the music that we gravitated to.... grunge, alt, punk.. Somehow I missed out on Oasis, although I heard about them, but it looks and sounds like Oasis was of this ilk..... So much of nineties and early 2000 music has memories attached to them that can sometimes feel heavy.... so I love that Oasis is new to me now. Love this song.
It's funny, this song made me a huge Oasis fanatic back when it came out. Was my favorite band for years after this record. Broaden my horizons years later and started to listen to other stuff, so I'm not really listening to them much anymore, but it's still a big part of what made me get into music.
This song is a matter of respect for England football club. They were knocked in 1996 fifa world cup... Though I am not British but Oasis is pure emotion to me. Love from #India❤️
Cast no shadow live at Maine road. Some might say from the same gig. Then Columbia at knebworth and Live Forever from familiar to millions. Four TOP live songs of this band. Just enjoy.
Don't feel so bad, we've all to go back before we discover something that's passed us. Start with their albums. Once you've given them a good listen, go and listen to all of their B-sides. Truly amazing songwriting. 😉
Also, on what you were saying about the vintage look... They first came about in the 90's are all massive Beatles fans. Liam (Singer) so much so that his son is called Lennon.
You might wanna go back and revisit some of their older music. It's strange how sometimes you can hear something and just never notice how great it is till years later.
Discovered the band about 2 years ago and it was life changer -not an exaggeration either. First 2 albums are far an away the best I’d say. I’d recommend Live Forever, Champagne Supernova and Morning Glory to kind of feel out their style
