I like the way Noel looks over his shoulder when Liam walks behind him to get a smoke. That perfectly symbolizes their relationship. Noel has to look over his shoulder all the time with Liam. They've both grown a lot though... hope they can get back together soon.

For those who don't get what's happening, Noel always likes the crowd to sing the opening few lines of Whatever, then take over by singing the opening lines again after the crowd have sung them. But Liam started singing straight away. Noel shook his head at Liam to indicate he fucked up by not letting the crowd sing first. Liam moaned and told him to sing it himself. When Noel takes over, he let's the crowd sing, but for some reason instead of Noel then singing the opening lines "I'm free to be whatever I...", he starts with the second part "Always seems to me..." which the rest of the band and orchestra weren't expecting, hence they're all playing the chords to the opening lines. So both brothers actually fucked up. 😮😅😢😂
The harmonica guy started earlier (so the part where the crowd sing the intro was skept) Liam entrance is after harmonica, but Noel things is Liam fault for letting the crowd sing. Liam made no mistake here because he knows his timming by heart.
@@smodiddley yeah, they add another run of the intro chord progression before the start on the unplugged and maine road versions, in the original they play the intro twice and liam comes singing, in maine road is three times. Liam did it right on the first night and let the crowd sing the extra repetition before he starts singing (the one right after the drums kicks in). Here Liam enters after only two repetitions and sings the one repetition after the drums (like in the original) which is intended to be for the crowd only. Then Noel fucked up the song AGAIN by doing the same thing, because he took the crowd as the vocals (but the crowd enters one repetition before the vocals come in) so he entered the chorus before it was supposed to at 3:18, the strings and bass kept going into the verse for a second and then fixed it to fit into the chorus
@@Alex-qm9pg No, Liam fucked up, he should have known that he had to wait another repetition before he enters regardless of the harmonica guy playing, and the harmonica guy entered right, the same way he did in the 1st maine road night, at the beginning of the second intro repetition. The structure of the song is fixed and Liam's entrance is fixed, it doesn't depends on when the harmonica enters (which entered right), the only one who fucked up was Liam. Is more likely that he was confused by the drum fill, in the studio recording Liam starts singing right after the drums kick in, in the live version he enters one repetition after that. And Liam fucked up for NOT letting the crowd sing, there is an extra intro repetition on the live version (after the drums kicks in) so the crowd can sing but Liam started exactly on that part (one intro repetition before he should hace actually entered), that made him land into the chorus early. And Noel also fucked up by letting the crowd sing the whole verse and following them even thought they enter one intro repetition before the vocals should. He was actually signalling the monitor engineer to turn the volume up a bit on his monitors. It's quite a common "joke" for performers to do that with their middle finger. That's why he looks to the side before he does it, the monitor engineer is side stage.

I hate the fact that now videos like these have a low quality. Until 2008 these videos were available in a good quality, but it began the era of the partnership in google, and mediocre bloggers appeared taking over all social networks and flooded them with so much shit that now it's very difficult to find good material.

Great eye! Yes, Noel & then Liam caught Harmonica idiots mistake. Then that twat flips Liam off. I remember reading Zak Starkey say that if anything was not exactly right or at the time time in sing - Noel and Liam (and band) would notice right away.
liam started singing 4 bars too early. usually it would be ok, but because they had an orchestra reading from sheet music, then everything has to be done properly, or the whole orchestra would be well behind the rest of the song. if you see at 2:20, if Liam hadn't stopped singing, he was about to go into the "Always seems to me" bit, but the orchestra are still playing the verses, because they're sight reading from a score. Liam was wrong, but i think it's the Harmonica player that triggered Liam to start in the wrong place. The song had to stop though, it would have been a mess if they didn't because they would be playing different sections at different times :)

You can discuss all you want but we all know NOEL is the brain behind EVERYTHING. If it wasn't for Noel Liam would still be doing back garden gigs. Think of all the concerts Liam F!! up because of his attitude. Think about MTV Unplugged and how blessed we where Liam didn't bother to show up that day. Noel just wants it his way and we should be very thankfull for that. Just a few times he actually did get it his way and look at the result: There and Then (luckally they did several nights so Noel could pick the songs Liam didn't F!! up) , G-Mex (Liam almost screwed it up at the end by starting to kick around with his mic) and MTV Unplugged. Don't get me wrong. I respect Liam on the days he does bother to do a good jobb. But all to often he does things that really screw up for the fans.

Noels a genius, he can write, sing, and play what can Liam do? The problem is every band has its bad boy wether it's Pete Townsend, Keith Moon, John Lennon, Freddy Mercury, Keith Richards etc and all genius. If that's the case what's Liam got apart from bad boy image? He's no genius It has to be said but his vocals are superb, much better than Noels, throw in a bit of attitude and there you are. No matter what Noel eventually achieved with Oasis in the end, without Liam, the band was dead.
