When my daughter was born, they played Brahms lullaby all through the l&d floor. Oh man I cried it was so beautiful. I’m hoping at this hospital where my 2 boys were delivered they do that again and one of the nurses knows how to make the bows on her newborn hat. It’s so silly but the nurses didn’t know how at the other hospital. Lol. Darn hormones

omg!! I hope they know how to make them they are so easy!! And if your monitor looks similar to ours, they should be able to play the lullaby 😊

I always knew I wanted to work in the medical field, but I never really knew what to be, but now I know that I want to work as a Women's health nurse or something in that nature. Off topic but what's really cool is that my mom is a nurse and sometimes she lets us go to work with her, she works in the ICU as a night shift nurse, but I'll drive my sisters and I to see her at like 12:00 am and we'll help out with restocking and stuff. They call it being a "candy striper"

Hi! I've been watching some of your videos because I've been considering being an L&D nurse! I'm 15 going into sophomore year of high school and it seems like something I would absolutely love to do! I've been researching it but I'm not really sure about the education portion. Specific questions are: -What do I need to become and L&D nurse (education wise)? -How many years (after high school) would I be in the education process? -I'd also like to know if being and L&D nurse requires setting up/managing IV's, giving epidurals and giving C-sections. Please let me know when you can! Thank you so much I love your videos, I'll keep watching them they are super informative! Love from Chicago!
@Romi_joy
@Romi_joy 4 года назад
Hi there!! 1) You need a degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) to become a nurse, then apply to L&D positions after you pass the NCLEX. 2) Watch this video it explains a lot better!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PLRCdTPpDzc.html 3) Yes as an L&D nurse you do plenty of IVs, assist with epidurals (CRNA's do the actual epidural) and you assist the doctor during the C-section. Hope this helps!!!

Romi Joy how many units can u work in for instance can u work in L&D and cardiology or can u only choose one files to work in , I would really love if someone answered because I really want to know but anyways thanks for the video Love it 😍
@Romi_joy
@Romi_joy 4 года назад
@@aishatvnx depends on the hospital! Since I'm in women's and have crosstrained to other women's units, I can pick up shifts or float there anytime. We can't crosstrain to anywhere outside of women's. However, if you want to do cardiology I suggest working in either L&D or cardiology first as a new grad, then transitioning over to the other once you've completed training. Then you can pick up a PRN position in the one you aren't working in, or work part time as both, but it'd most likely have to be at different hospitals. Hope this helps!

Can you make a video on baby’s in breech or transverse position turning in the womb and when it’s okay to worry about it !
@Romi_joy
@Romi_joy 4 года назад
Hi there! Baby's can be breech or transverse all the way until 32-36 weeks. It only starts to get concerning if you are full term (37 weeks or greater) and they still are not cephalic. So don't worry until then! If you are 37 weeks or greater, there is an option called an ECV where the doctors will turn your baby around to become cephalic. Babies turning later on in pregnancy is more common than you think!!

heyy i’m 14 and going into high school in September. i’ve always felt like i’ve wanted to work in a hospital and i think in the future i’d really like this job a lot!! since i’m going into high school, i was wondering if there’s classes that i can take that would help me if i were to go to nursing school (which i really want to go to). which classes should i take for this line of work in the future?
@Romi_joy
@Romi_joy 4 года назад
Hi there! Science classes like anatomy and physiology would help, but you will retake this class in college also (unless you do dual credit). Pretty much everyone takes the same general classes in high school, and when you go to college those classes really matter more for nursing. So my recommendation is in high school, get great grades and a high GPA so you can more easily get into the nursing school of your choice and even get scholarships towards school :)

Romi Joy Good to know! But another quest so sorry... every time I watch a video about becoming an OBGYN there’s a mention of Medical School and pre-med courses. Are those required? Or is it simply four years in college followed by residency and then a job?

@@precious6090 Awesome! Definitely do a little research on it, but going to medical school to become an OBGYN requires 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school and then 3-7 years of residency depending on your speciality. Being an obgyn nurse requires 4 years of undergrad majoring in nursing!
