I will never forget, one of the times this show made an impact on myself. In 2007, during my last high school summer vacation, I was at a seaside resort town, with my friends. One of the nights there, all of my buddies, decided to go out and party, but I decided to stay in. I was on the balcony, smoking a cigarette. I just wanted to feel the ambiance, of a seaside town on a summer night. The TV in the room behind me was still turned on, as before my friends went out, we watched an episode of X-Men TAS on Jetix. I suddenly heard the opening of Oban, and it just fit the mood perfectly. Since then, the song just evokes feelings of strength, optimism and nostalgia in me, everytime. Although, I am still waiting for 'My Chance To Shine', I am still very close to all of the people I spent that summer with. So, I guess it's not that bad 🙂🙂🙂
It's 4:05 am ,I'm 22years old. I stared with Naruto openings, and finished here.Wathing my favorites shows with nostalgy. Im so glad for my childhood. Sry for my english, CZ.
There's no other feeling than waking up at 6 in the morning just to catch this fantastic show and many others that were on Jetix on the weekends. Miss those days! :)
the first japanese opening i've ever heard (i had only watched dubbed versions before that) and it stuck so hard with me the ending song too it's incredible
First time I heard this theme was as a DVD ad for the shows release on DVD when I was a kid, finally found the show on a different site after a decade plus a few years and wanted to come here and listen to this amazing theme again
Damn... I remember watching the Danish dub of this series ages ago, using the Japanese opening. This OP just hits me with nostalgic feelings. Hope we can get a sequel story/spin-off with the familiar cast returning
I remember rushing home from school every day here in Sweden just to watch this show, of course in Swedish dub. I have looked for years but I can't find the Swedish dub which is sad since that's what I grew up with, I'm guessing you're in the same situation.
It was shows like Oban that made me want to major in cinema in college, if I ever get to adapt this to the silver screen I’m using this song in a scene of the Aero-2 flying up towards the sky
2006-2007-2008 are the years with most of my favorite anime as oban, Nana, Death Note, Eureka Seven, Code geass and many more. Great story, great characters design, very good visual quality, even today.
My brother didn't remeber the name who got this off the mc description. It was only after i saw the poster that i remembered. I loved this but can't remember the plot but i loved it to the point of recognizing the song beat and humming with it. Will probably rewatch it soon.
I feel so sorry for North America. They didn't get an intro that perfectly fit the emotional journey of the show like we in the UK and Japan did. This was just undeniably better. Yoko Kanno was an excellent choice by the creative director.
@@boomboxradio2414 You guys are French Canadian so that makes sense since this was made in France. I saw it while visiting a foreign country so I got to see the theme song as an American.
Watched this as a kid at my cousins when I was like six years old (Turning 20 this year) and never again. The other day a heard a anime melody sounding similar to the one in this into and suddenly all the memories came back from the thew times I watched this show. When I searched for the anime, I could barely recognize the characters, If it was not for my faint memory of the intro melody I would not have believed I have ever even seen this show. Just shows how much your image of something changes over time.
@@rennac3152 yea even though I think I’ve watched an English episode once like then anime feels familiar like I grew up with the last of 4kids and jedex before it went off the air

I'm a little confused. In my region, the opening song is the same, but overall lower pitched. I do think it's the same singer. Is there a reason? Or is this video in particular pitched up to avoid copyright?
Now I feel the same burst of excitement when i used hear this on my TV screen and shout it loud till my mom used to hit me and now I feel the nostalgia for the time miss
I remember I used to be in love with previous dude who used to race before Eva the dude with the long hair and the red tattoo. What I know is that I had a type since I was a kid
The show is pure bittersweet bliss😍😘. The nostalgia brought about by the opening and the ending themes are soooooooo fucking powerful!!! 😣😣😣 The show & specifically the story line and character development are top notch & it impacted so many young minds😊😇☺ and the ending where avatar Jordan cries seeing eva leave Oban to earth still makes me soooooo emotional and cry every single time!!!😇😢😢😣😭😭😔😰😰😖 Jordan: "Partner" ☺ "I love you Molly" 😍 "Don't say anything" 😚 "Take Care of yourself"😭😭😭
Yess!!!!, i no spicking english but.. Soy de chile y hace unos años atrás tuve un dvd de puca donde este opening aparecía como publicidad, por mera casualidad lo reconocí, sabia que no era el único :D
Funny this also was the intro they use in Poland, the only difference was that famous lector Tomasz Knapik told the title of the show over the title-card. For some reason the name of the show wasn't even translated. It translates to "Oban: Gwiezdni Jeżdźcy" btw.
Because the French did the CGI work in this, not Japanese studios and the French have considered ahead of the game around this time in CG work in animation.
Im 20 my brother is 23 today he came and we talked about our childhood and i told him if i can find the name of logo of the X cat thing i will definitely find it and behold the doors have opened
época de ouro da jetix, eu parava tudo o q tava fazendo pra assistir, lembro mais ou menos que passava às 19:30h ou as 19h, colocava até o relógio pra despertar, eu tinha uns 10 anos de idade, sdds
