Oberammergau is a small village near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It's known for it's spell-binding wall paintings. The traditional art-form is also known as Lüftler painting or in German Lüftlermalerei. Detailed daily and religious scenes are depicted in those painting, turning the village into a unique walking experience.
The town is also known for the Passion play held here every year during the summer months. We briefly take you to the place at the beginning of this walk.
The village was a bit quiet on that day because it's not peak season and because it was Kirchweih day, a Bavarian holiday.
