Either way I can't do less than 6 voices for a poly.. but the TEO 5 is an awesome way to get an Oberhiem sound its going to be a hit!

@@symbiat0 Sure would be.. it´s good that Synth companies keep the money rolling in with a bit more accessible synths like the TEO 5 it provides them with the economy to create a more dream like high end project that they can bring to life.

This is a great little synth, it sounds great period, and for the money wow, but B sold their synth out like 4 times already, I doubt they're worried about it. Plus the 16 voices/32 VOCs is nothing to sneeze at. In layer mode you can go pretty nuts with sound deign and of course 16 voices is also super advantageous in split mode. 5 voices for an OB style synth is a bit limiting as far as classic lines and big pad /string/brass spreads go. I have an X-8, which I love, but I'll likely get the UB when the desktop version comes out. I'll place it over of my X8. It's got a darker tone with more sound design possibilities that I think will compliment my particular style/set up. But yeah, this is a great option as well, and different, if you can forgive the 5 voices, or just don't need more.

@@EnervatedSociety I love Behringer, don’t get me wrong. Mine was more of a “uh-oh” moment for them, since Uli’s philosophy was ‘making more affordable products for everyone’, when started off. Now, even the companies that have been emulated, cloned, etc. found a way to get into the lower tier market. Yes, UBX-a has 16 voices, but is still 1200 bucks. Not so cheap, if you ask me for a knock off. So, the comment was purely on the financial aspect of the product, rather than the quality.

Yeah it’s hard to do these things at shows on the spot without editing, single camera, background noise. Chris would agree it’s not perfect, but he’s a pro.

@@StarskyCarr yes i can imagine. Its difficult to explain and think of all the technical details and then make the synth sound as good as possible, remembering some patches to show….

Because they believe that supporting a company that clones other companies, and makes really poor social postings, is the right thing to do. UBXa is only a little cheaper than the Teo 5, yet the Teo 5 runs rings around it. 16 voices don't mean much when they sound poor to begin with. Add to that the poor keybed that comes along with it.

It’s an Oberheim with a large, flexible mod-matrix, and through-zero FM, neither found on any previous OBs, for $1500. What else do you want it to do, make toast?
