Oh wow! You are seriously over thinking this. I was a shy kid and my mother said this too me all the time. I love my mother dearly and it made me chuckle when Norman said it. I grew up fine with no trauma related to my mom telling me to speak up. Sometimes it's healthier to look at the positives.
@Zack-ys9qv I most likely come from a different generation than you. These words caused no harm to me. Actually taught me about the real world and speaking up for what I want and need in life. My mother prepared me for the world at that time. Can't just sit and complain about everthing. You have to learn coping and survival skills if your gonna make it. May not be your view but worked for me and apparently several others who laughed too. But I see where your coming from. Wishing you the best
@ShakirahFrancis I just kinda feel like u read that and automatically took the unhealthy approach of seeing the negative in it but I don't even think there was any negativity at all 😅 but I'd like to think u meant well & i just came to say that sometimes the things we say/do to others subconsciously acts as a mirror that reflects back onto ourselves and usually we don't even realize it. I feel like maybe that didn't make as much sense as I had hoped but it made sense in my head so 🤷🏻♀️

While in high school, I worked at a Burger King. What always killed me is someone with abnormally large girth would order 2 double Whoppers with cheese, several chicken sandwiches, triple bacon cheese burgers with extra bacon and 2 large onions. And for beverage, a Diet Coke.
