Some people seem confused, I doubt anything will change about this part of his life with the new show. I think it will take 2 to 3 parts to get up to Tatooine. Then wait for the season to finish since it will be running before and parallel to Rebels.
I see you are transitioning to Kenobi-related content, instead of Book of Boba Fett-related content. Very well, but WHEN CAN WE SEE A PLANET BIO OF TATOOINE, ITSELF???

As are Obi Wan and Anakin too, their dysfunction binds them and their opposing ideals and practices work to strengthen their bond. I think Qui-Gon chose Obi to train Anakin not because he was his Padawan, but because Obi Wan of all Jedi would understand how Anakin would struggle similar to Obi. Reflecting how Obi's master was chosen to mould him into the best Jedi he could be.
It’s kinda crazy just how much Obiwan has changed. He’s a completely different person as a padawan from the Jedi master he is in the prequels. And again he changes so much from that to himself in A New Hope
MetaNerdz I wanted to thank you for providing us with these videos. As a Star Wars nerd it’s always great when you upload because I can expand on my lore. Keep up the amazing work brother
that is the funniest line in the audiobook. I say it like a mouth breather would, and then I laugh at my own hilarity. "they really did do that didn't they mastah.....huhuhuh
"I'll train him without the help of the Council if I must." ......Proceeds to spend the rest of the prequels doing exactly as the Council tells him, constantly asking for guidance and help until he joins it himself. I'd love to see an alternate story line where he tried that. Makes me think of how the Obi Wan/Luke dynamic could've been different. He ended up training Anakin's son, without the help of the Council, because he had too.
I think it might of been the one out of character moment he had until post-order 66. Like he’s usually his rigid, snarky, by the book self but Qui-Gon’s guidance and last words meant enough to him that for once he went against the council even if until it’s destruction he’s dogmatically adherent to them.
Great video! You put so much care into these! Just so you are aware, while it is currently canon that Obi-Wan was 15 when he protected Satine, that was included in a reference book that forgot about Master and Apprentice, which takes place when Obi-Wan was 17 (that book also had other big problems with other timelines). The new book Padawan takes place when Obi-Wan is 16 and the author, Kiersten White, confirms that Padawan takes place shortly before Master and Apprentice and that the Mandalore mission happens after M&A. So that will rearrange this timeline a bit.
This video has made me realize how different EU Qui-Gon is from Disney Qui-Gon. Disney Qui-Gon would punch EU Qui-Gon in the face. The different Obi-Wan’s also go through drastically different events, only to end up extremely similar personality wise. It’s fascinating.
This is so awesome metanerdz. The council has been waiting for this for a while. We would like to make you the rank of master and now I have to go clean my windows
Finally got round to watching it yes love to see this does it end at the end of master and apprentice I've pre ordered that new book about obi wan's youth coming in june. Can wait for part 2
It seems like Obi-wan and Anakin's padawanships were similar except for the fact that Anakin had alot more anger about different issues than Obi-wan did
Well, Anakin was an emotionally damaged person due to his upbringing as a slave. Plus without Qui Gon there was no other Jedi who could’ve given Anakin the emotional support and guidance that he truly needed. It didn’t help that Obi Wan didn’t give Anakin an emotional outlet for his feelings.
I thought Obi-wan was not talented. I remember hearing that he was actually bellow average and had to compensate for it with endless training and sheer dedication which in the end paid off. Has that been retconned?
This is awesome. I was just thinking how Obi-wans childhood is overlooked in the greater canon but of course i just didn't know there were several books on it.
So Kenobi, unlike in the old canon, is inherently a really powerful force weirder? Wow. I liked it better when he was a reject who worked his ass off and made his sub par connection to the force a lethal and genius weapon.
@@shawndavis218 so back when kenobi was a padawan and the younglings were being chosen by their masters for training, obi wan was rejected, I think twice, before qui gon the only cool jedi, saw that obi wan despite his weak connection to the force, still had potential. Dope story, total loss for Disney. It always made the obi wan vs anakin duel on mustafar more meaningful and badass.
@@excelsiorcameo5295 that is not what happend in legends canon. Obi-Wan was never weak. Yoda complimented him several times and saw a lot of potential when he wasn't taken as a padawan yet. But he was easily to anger and had quite a temper. That was the reason nobody wanted him - not even Qui Gon. Only when Obi-Wan prooved himself in the eyes of Qui Gon several times he decided to be his Jedi-Master.
Thank you meta nerds for a BIO on my FAVORITE star wars character! Also I was wondering, do you have favorite characters, I notice a lot of clone wars/ BBY character breakdowns
I have horrible insomnia. I listen to Metanerdz videos when I can't sleep, which is often. It may be a waste of stored knowledge, but I love learning about the SW lore.
Where’s part 2? Because you didn’t even talk about the time Obiwan was undercover in a Transport ship while having to protect a Hutt youngling against Hyperspace Pirates! They literally interdicted his ship in hyperspace and he had to fight them off and survive saving everyone on board
lol just like when I read the book I involuntarily went “ooooooooooo” when he told the high council who controlled his whole life I might remind you to focus. 😂😂
I’m actually surprised that the huts didn’t go as far as to kill a Jedi but from what I’ve heard are that multiple attempts were made to try to kill members of the dark counsel members Like emperor vitiate and his Sith empire
dude, awesome story, i saw a surmised story arc back then when we had the "star Wars Fact Files" but please i need a list of the books you use, want to read them.....
