Anyone else think Leia's speech to her cousin is actually foreshadowing Reva's whole deal? “You’re scared of him. You want him to like you so you repeat what he says. Even though you don’t really know what it means. You think being like him will make people frightened of you, but really, you’re the one who’s scared.” She certainly looked scared for a second when big V snapped that younglings neck in the street.

Obi-Wan is displaying common symptoms of PTSD throughout this episode. Not just the flashback memories. Avoiding talking about it, negative thoughts about himself and others, trouble concentrating, on guard, irritable, outbursts, guilt....

First, thank you for speaking out about the hate against the actors. It’s totally uncalled for. If you don’t like the character fine, but don’t hate the person. They have feelings. Second I was so shook after this episode. When obi-wan stare at Vader and asks him what he’s become and vaders responds. It just stabbed me in the heart. Vader is so vicious too. It had to tear obiwan up.

I adore watching you two watch Star Wars. The way she looks at him so fondly when he's beaming with glee and excitement. You can see how much she loves him by the way her eyes light up whenever something makes him giddy or happy or excited. Or the way she comforts him and cares for him when he's stressed out or emotional. There's so much that is said about their love and connection to one another just by observing these little things about how they interact. ♥️ She never ever looks at him weird or makes him feel like he's getting "too excited" or "too emotional" over this nerdy thing that he loves so much, even in instances when she might not fully know what he's talking about or referencing. This is what it looks like when someone has found a safe place in their partner's company. You two are wonderful. 😌♥️ I didn't get around to it last week but I just wanted to say I was ecstatic when you mentioned that you have a little one on the way. You're going to be amazing parents. It speaks volumes that Darth Vader was so brutal(mercilessly killing random people to draw out Obi-wan) that even the other Inquisitors were shocked. That’s the difference between them and a proper Sith Lord.

21:10 I haven’t seen anyone point this out but the reason he activated his lightsaber was to feel safe as it was very dark. He immediately turns it off and runs once he sees Vader again. Obi-Wan explained this earlier in the episode to Leila, about darkness and feeling safe when the lights are on.

Noticed that Obi-Wan is pretty rattled at the very beginning of the episode but then tinkers with and fixes something (Lola) to calm himself down like how Anakin used to....

The way they did his voice was an AI Voice generating software, that analyzes speech patterns and mimics it. Since James Earl Jones did voice recording, all his audio is clear abs free of noise giving the software more information to work with, this a much better, and accurate product. To give the AI an extra level of natural flow, James Earl Jones recorded the dialogue, and the AI used that recording as a guide to generate its “Darth Vader” voice you hear in the film.

Voss was also mention during the briefing Anakin missed in episode 3.. Great reaction guys, and I loved the episode..

Vader wasn’t just trying to draw out Obi-Wan. He’s putting the fear of god in everyone. Doesn’t matter if they’re villagers, stormtroopers or inquisitors. They’re all going to remember this night and spread the legend of Vader.

I like the inclusion of the Underground Railroad helping to save and relocate the younglings and Jedi.

Sonny's emotional reactions just hit me so hard

I think the mugshot was only on daiyu, and sent to the bounty hunters. You remember how that one dude said no signal goes in or out the planet? This means that during that whole thing , no info went out the planet. They didn't know he was on Mapuso until the probe droid went there. So my assumption is The probe has the image of his face but they probably need to go to each planet and then transmit it from there to give ALL troopers the pic. So maybe that's why it's too much of a hassle and they just sent probes. Another explanation is that the troopers will probably be briefed when they get to base (which is where they were going) and since they were in a field they just...didn't get the info or pics. And a third explanation is that they are just looking for "jedi" . Doesn't matter who cus they need to snuff out ALL jedi. So it doesn't matter who it is. So maybe they didn't bother sending any images , just go like "Yeah see a lightsaber , blast em" which would be a way. Not the smartest way but the empire ain't known for being smart lol

I hope they get to battle again...I want to see Obi get to connect with Qui-Gon and have his Rocky Balboa comeback moment and have a truly epic lightsaber battle. Obi wasn't ready for any type of duel at this time. He wasn't even trying to fight..just defend himself.

I just want to tell you, your SW reactions are deeply appreciated, I mean, I watch several reactors that are my favorites for all type of content, you are between them, but for SW content you are my absolute favorite, why?.. because you are a true SW fan, like me. I became the first official member of the Rebel Legion in my country, guess my costume, yeah exactly, my son's name is Alec and i think like me you can see what is wrong about the movies, series, etc, be objective, and talk about it in a very sincere honest respectable way, but also get deeply emotional when what makes SW unique appears, moments that make the tears appear, deep from the soul, we cant help it because when those moments hit the screen we remember why we love SW and why we will always love SW. This series in particular makes me love my favorite SW character even more, because makes him more relatable than ever as somebody that needs to battle his demons, while having to keep the day to day "normal", at the same time looking for hope in Qui-Gon, the rest of the series i think will not only fill the gap between ROTS and ANH but also make the OWK character much more solid and admirable.

Everyone is fixated on the Vader / Obi wan reunion, and I understand that. But for me, there was a moment that really stood out and almost brought me to tears. It was when Leia asked “Are you my real father?” Wow, that was such a heavy moment. The writing, directing, and the skill of this young actress in this moment just blew me away.

I found it interesting that Obi-Wan said to Leia that he wished he could say that he was Leia's father. I always felt he had feelings for Padme, not in a sexual way but a great admiration for her. Later Anakin mistook that for something more when he choked Padme out of jealousy. It seemed a strange thing for a Jedi to say, not ever being allowed to be parents.

A million years ago I was at San Diego comic-con ‘97 or ‘98 and there was a Star Wars panel and a fan asked an executive from Lucasfilm if Darth Maul was ever going to come back. I can’t remember who it was but he quipped , “Did you see the part where Maul got chopped in half?” And everyone in the panel laughed. This happened before cell phones but yeah wish that was recorded somewhere. And to agree with you: no, they didn’t have maul’s return planned from the beginning.

Am I the only one who thinks that it was kinda dumb how easily Vader gave up on getting Obi-Wan? Not only would I bet that vaders suit is able to withstand fire for a few seconds, he also put the fire out a few seconds earlier with the force so why not again? He is hunting Obi-Wan for years and a little bit of fire stops him? And don't get me wrong I like the show a lot.

As one of the biggest star wars nerd in history not one of my kids has a name from a franchise. You are so right.

I think they used the AI voice emulator for Vader that they used for Luke in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. They feed the AI a bunch of dialogue from old movies/etc. of the actor when they had the voice they're aiming for. They talk about it a bit in the behind-the-scenes stuff they released on Disney+ after Mandalorian Season 2.

Darth Vader is holding nothing back with all that pain and anger and suffering. This is how Vader should have been in the prequels

It's really, really cool and hilarious that this character is *so* much of a cultural icon that already commands respect with even just his presence that it's absolutely terrifying just watching the guy get up, shower, get dressed, and head to work. The "actions speak louder than words" is a pretty solid theme here that works into all of the little subplot threads in some clever and unique ways. Like the loading droid - it's a Worker Droid, not a Protocol Droid - it has no real need to speak. ("But what if he has something to say?" "He will say it with his actions.") Stormtroopers just write him off as too stupid or non-sentient to understand, while this droid was actually a ride or die homie ready to start cracking skulls with an ax at the drop of a hat. Obi-Wan doesn't want little miss to talk - "I can't talk, or I don't talk?" "You don't talk." "Yeah, but we need to talk to this guy so that we can get some help." And though it was a bumpy ride, little miss knows how to improvise gracefully, being raised as the daughter of *SENATOR* Bail Organa and *QUEEN* Breha Organa. So they have this playful "I know *who* she's like," banter that highlights Leia's understanding of these things - but this is 100% about the Legacy of Padme Amidala, who was both a Senator and a Queen. Then Reva and the Dejected Green Mushroom Inquisitor have a pissing contest about taking initiative vs taking advantage, and ultimately come across as two petulant siblings trying to snitch on each other to Dad who doesn't give a shit. "I just went and spoke to Darth Vader, buddy, you're SCREWED." "Oh, yeah? Well *I* already informed Lord Vader, and he gave me a cookie." And to cap it off, Vader is obsessed with getting revenge on Kenobi, but there's a sense of meta-aware insecurity to him, as if he was wary of being criticized for his Rogue One puns and generally petulant nature from the prequel trilogy. So he just walks up, menacing as shit, and then suddenly just STOPS. There's a small beat in which I'm pretty sure everybody watching at home was like, "He's about to say something stupid, isn't he?" And the guy flips the freak out - "QUIT MAKING FUN OF MY DIALOGUE!" and starts snapping necks. And more power to him, because even I had to agree that *this* was a way better burn than, "Careful not to choke on your aspirations."

Funny thing that it all leads to Jabiim. Before Disney took over that planet had a dark story established in the clone wars. It was a neglected and underdeveloped world in the republic that defected to the confederacy once they found rich minerals beneath the surface. No Jedi ever visited Jabiim and the people there hated Jedi. During the battle Obi Wan was almost killed when his walker exploded. Anakin thought he real was dead. When it was clear the separatist were wining the republic abandoned Jabiim leaving republic loyalists behind to die. Of 30 Jedi sent to Jabiim only Anakin and Obi Wan survived

After all, she is the wife of the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal), isn't she? Oh, no, that was Ellaria Sand, the paramour of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. hehehe But to be clear, she wasn't "dressed" as an Imperial officer. She is an Imperial officer who repented and went on to help create the group that will become the Rebellion.

Just a point on baby names. When my Ex-Wife was pregnant we decided that if we had a girl she got to chose the name and if we had a boy I'd chose it - years before I'd promised my Papa (Grandad) when he was in hospital before he passed that if I ever had a son the name would include Robert after him - we ended up having a girl but because my Ex-Wife knew how much my Nanny and Papa meant to me she named our Daughter Isla but then added my Nanny's name of violet in there so even though I couldn't use my Papa's name we still did our best to honour them. However, back to the point my Ex did agree that if our child turned out to be green then I'd be allowed to call the child Yoda, regardless of whether it was a boy or a girl :)

Hahaha, I totally agree about not naming your kid something like Cal-El. I got around it by naming my daughter Amanda, for Spock’s (my fave character) mom. A normal name that most people won’t connect to my nerdy interest. And good thing cuz she has NO INTEREST in Star Trek. So you can do the nerd thing without torturing your kid.

Kat & Sonny, 14:43 Her jerk of a cousin made that crystal clear last episode when he told her that she wasn't even a real Organa. Leia's always known, her new parents were upfront and truthful with her about that, but they still loved her as though she was theirs, upholding their promise to Yoda and Obi-Wan. Regarding the Stormtroopers, they're conscripts. They neither fought with nor against the Jedi when they were around, Clone Troopers did, they're retired now. The Jedi and the Senate mostly took care of matters in the Inner Rim--Qui-Gon told Shmi in episode one that had Anakin been born in the Inner Rim that the Jedi would have found him earlier. I don't know where this new world is, but seeing how the Empire has exploited it for its minerals and what not, I think it's a safe bet to assume its far from the core, somewhere with little to no representation. I figure Imperials who aren't officers come from the same parts too. I bring this up, because if you weren't raised were the Senate had a presence, you likely didn't see Jedi. After Order 66, surviving Jedi fled to the Outer Rim to safety because they were unknown to the peoples there, but more importantly, they changed their names and they stopped wearing traditional Jedi garb. Look no further than Cal Kestis, Kanan Jerrus, Cere Junda, Ahsoka Tano and Nari (the Jedi we saw in the first episode). Obi-Wan is the odd one out, as he still dresses like one. Unlike the others I mentioned, Obi-Wan disconnected himself from the Force, but still followed their practices. As Obi-Wan lives without attachments, he has no need for new clothes. The clothes he wears were very likely fashioned from the clothes he arrived on Tatooine with; the man recycled his own clothes. While it's crazy that he'd walk around looking like a Jedi, it's equally crazy to think that he was a Jedi because why would anyone in their right mine do that when the Empire is out their hunting them down =P Still, I think the issue is actually easier and the first point I made: Stormtroopers are conscripts that do not know what Jedi look like, as they don't have a look anymore since they're chameleons, doing whatever they need to do to live another day. 17:05 Be hold, the Rule of Two in practice! They aren't Sith, but these Dark Side users adhere to that code. 18:54 I love this scene. This episode starts with Obi-Wan snapping at Leia, telling her that everyone isn't good. He's made at himself for trusting someone he knows is a charlatan, and yet, at this moment, he realizes that there are good people. That charlatan got him to another person willing to put their on life on the line to get him and Leia to safety, but more importantly, she brought him to a safehouse where he learns that there are other Jedi still out there, doing Jedi things--he's not alone. While he had given up on the galaxy and people, in general, they have not given up on the galaxy and are still fighting the good fight. 25:01 this was an amazing episode! We need more Deborah Chow in Star Wars! She's doing such a great job, as are all the new and old actors too, young Leia and Reva are outstanding!

What if Obi Wan's memories are a sort of explanation for how Leia says she remembers her mother in ROTJ. Maybe force sensitives are capable of holding onto these flashes of memory that are impossible for people to normally have.

Because of the time period that the sequel of fallen order is putt a lot people (me included) believe that we might see two of this scenarios: 1-Cal Kestis will show up in the kenobi series to help him, since he already has tons of experince dealing with the inquisitors and he will help Obi wan "recover" from the guilt and ptsd since Cal went thougth something similar. 2-We will see Obi wan in the jedi survivor game, honestly this one probably the most likely to happen. Even tho it's perfectly possible for disney to do this i don't think that it would be the best, because Cal may steal a lot of the spotlight from Kenobi.

Hardly surprising Obi-Wan has PTSD. Vader appearing was like the ultimate flashback for him. His whole being thrown into turmoil. Hopefully now he will re-embrace the force and reconfront Vader with the force and dish out a few home truths.

The fact that the AI synthesizer they used to replicate JEJ's voice sounds so spot on is amazing, it replicates all his vocal mannerisms perfectly. You can even hear Vader's voice waver when he tells Obi-Wan: " I am what you made me."
