I've always made the interpretation that Vader didn't want the weak, old, and uninspired Ben. He wanted revenge against the Jedi Master that beat him in their last duel. So he toys with Obi-Wan hoping that he'll get to see the master that dismantled him on Mustafar. In other words, Vader's arrogance keeps him from killing Obi-Wan.

@jaysuri1816 Год назад
Agreed. Also why he didn’t go after Obi-Wan in the fire, he was probably disappointed with the rematch he had hoped for, for 10yrs. That being said besides Hayden and Ewan, Disney really didn’t do this show justice, it could’ve been so much more

Also worth bearing in mind there’s a teeeeeeny tiny bit of Anakin left in there that truly doesn’t want to kill Obi-Wan - but the Vader side will always rationalise it as something else like “making him suffer” instead of admitting that to himself

@@ToribotI think he’s fully consumed with hate here. He just wanted the thrill of the fight and wasn’t satisfied with that rematch. “The years have made you weak” he wanted Obi-Wan at his best. Unless they meet in the future, this episode was contrary to the lore. In movie 4, A new Hope, Vader and Obiwan met aboard the first Death Star. Vader says "When last we met, I was the trainee and you were the Master, now I'm the Master" Obiwan says "Only a master of evil, Darth". So liked watching Vader be a boss, but unless they meet in the future before 'A new Hope', they trashed the lore for a cheap thrill.
@vanbacon3612
@vanbacon3612 Год назад
@raymondamador1487 I thought the same thing at first, but after I rewatched the scene from A New Hope, this show actually didn’t contradict the line. Because he says “When I left you, I was but the learner. Now I am the master…” So if the writers decide to interpret him “leaving” Obi-Wan as him first turning to the Dark Side, I guess that kinda leaves it open for more to happen during the stretch of time between those events.

It is confirmed in the Star Wars Canon comic Darth Vader when he had his castle built on Mustafar and then in the Vader Immortal vr game. Vader/Anakin tried to revive Padme from the end of episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, but he couldn't see it because Luke and Leya were already born. Because he thought they died in her womb. So when he tried to revive her, he couldn't see them because they were already born. Anakin's descent into darkness was well portrayed. Because some Jedi never completely loved him, didn't respect him, didn't trust him, didn't take him seriously and even despised him. As a child before Obi-Wan started teaching him, he was hated and psychologically bullied by other children "Anakin is a slave to his feelings" and that was only because of envy because he was much more gifted and skilled than them. . . .And many other things and sufferings he and his padawan, Ashoka Tano, the Jedi like to cause. Yoda during the Clone Wars, he met the spirit of Darth Bane in Sitt's tomb, which is created by the rule of two. And later in his visions he saw Anakin becoming Darth Vader and didn't do anything about it because I thought it wasn't worth it. Anakin was a slave all his life - Tatuine, Jedi, Love, Dark Side. He became a father figure to Qui-gon Jinn, during his stay in the temple he was psychologically bullied and called by others "Anakin slaves to his own feelings", he lost his mother, the Jedi never married him all the time and without proper evidence he accused Ashoka and caused her to leave and finally he was afraid of losing Padmé. The only and worst support given the events was Palpatine who was a fatherly substitute for Anakin from the beginning. When he used Mace Windu's hand and after killing the Jedi he was already in the dark as the dark side itself showed him to the planet Mortis The One Son. On Mustafar, Padme almost got him from the dark side, but Obi-Wan discovered him and screwed it up. Anakin "Vader" built his castle on Mustafar and thanks to the two sbosobs he tried to revive Padmé but he could not see it due to the fact that Luke and Leya were already born, they were the only ones preventing it with their existence. Too bad he didn't find "Word between Wolrds" on the planet Lothal. He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;) . . . You have to find out about the lost 20 Jedi like Count Dooku, about the fates of Jedi with the ability to see the future, young apprentices who were not taken by any Jedi masters to learn, who showed little talent for the force and were not shown to the temple which in some cases was quite drastic, . .. Blinded by ego, aronance, pride, absolute help to people and not following the path of forces. Honor to the exceptions and one of the true Jedi was Master Fey. The Jedi and the Fallen Jedi (Sith) have betrayed the memory and message of their common ancestors of the Je'daii Order by their actions and the endless battles of their Civil War. 😊 May the force be with you. And may you lead the force. 🖐️

Yoda is not to be blamed, he did correct. And he tried to warn Anakin about not giving himself into his dreams. Anakin made a mistake, Yoda can't be blamed for that, the failure of his is of Palpatine, for not feeling a sith lord behind his neck. That's why he exiles himself, symbolically by losing the fight.

Vader wasn’t pressed to get to Obi Wan which is why he didn’t make any extra effort to get back to him. Whatever actions Vader takes, it’s always his decision to pursue or not too. Jedi’s can sense other force users, but some master level Jedi’s such as Obi Wan and Yoda learned to suppress their presence within the force. Obi Wan did so by not using the force for 10 years. Yoda did so by going to Dagobah which was a planet with a strong dark side presence. He actually hid himself within the dark side. This is why he was never found by Vader or any Inquisitors. Hope that helps.

To answer your question. I think it tepends on how strong you are with the force. If you are Anakin level you can probably pull some small tricks and feel the force even if you are not aware, like he showed by piloting the pods, and sensing things. But if you are a weakling in the force like Sabine, then you cant really use it or even sense it unless you train for years.
@godzviii7385
@godzviii7385 Год назад
reasoning for why vader didn't go past the fire or use the force to put it out is because 2 reasons.. 1: Vader could've been letting him go so Ben could lead him to other jedi survivors. and 2: (the more possible reason) Vader wants Ben to suffer like Anakin did after their duel on Mustafar and so Ben can heal and come back stronger so Vader beats his old master at his strongest so its more of a victory. Killing Ben right then and there would've been too easy for Vader.

According to the Just released Ahsoka series and creator George Lucas. Everyone has the force within them in their cells. Only a handful can manipulate it to their will. Also, it takes years and years and years…did i say years to train to become in tune with the force. A being who’s great with a blaster or has great instincts etc is a form of the force within a person even if they don’t know what the force is.

Vader's focus is to get revenge on Obi-Wan. Everyone thinks he wants to kill him, but Vader wants him to suffer as much as possible before killing him, the way he feels Obi-Wan made him suffer. It's kind of like the Joker/Batman conversation at the end of TDK when Joker tells Batman, and I'm paraphrasing here, "you won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of principle, and I won't kill you because you're just too much fun". The relationship isn't an exact parallel, but the basic sense is there. TBH, there's a lot of people who misinterpret certain aspects and motivations in the this show, so just be aware of thar in the comments sections. The whole crux of this series is the emotional baggage and recovery of Obi-Wan and, to a lesser extent, Vader. It's seriously a study on PTSD. The last episode is a masterclass in that field. Not to mention it's among the best Star Wars we as fans have ever got. Keep up the reactions, Stef! Love them! I'm a big fan!

Can ordinary people use the Force? This was just addressed in this week's Ahsoka episode. Ahsoka says the Force resides within every life form. When further asked, "If that's true, why doesn't everyone use it?" Ahsoka replies, "Talent is a factor. But training and discipline will ultimately define one's success. Not everyone has the discipline necessary to fully wield the Force (paraphrased)." During the prequel trilogy, George Lucas introduced another wrinkle - midi-clorian count. "Midi-clorians were microscopic, intelligent life forms that originated from the foundation of life in the center of the galaxy and ultimately resided within the cells of all living organisms, thereby forming a symbiotic relationship with their hosts. The Force spoke through the midi-chlorians, allowing certain beings to use the Force if they were sensitive enough to its powers. In order to gauge an individual's potential in the Force, blood tests were used to estimate the number of midi-chlorians within the subject's cells. Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, possessed the highest known count in galactic history-over twenty-thousand midi-chlorians-surpassing the potential of Grand Master Yoda and all Jedi." starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Midi-chlorian The higher one's midi-clorian count, the more force-sensitive that person was. However, that wasn't the only factor. Obi-wan had a relatively low midi-clorian count (relative to other Jedi,

Vader let Obi-Wan escape because, as he said, the years had made him (Obi-Wan) weak. If Vader had killed him right then and there, it wouldn't have been worth it for his revenge. In other words, it would've been, to quote him, "All too easy." So he toyed with Kenobi and made him suffer as he suffered when he was left for dead on Mustafar. What I'm trying to say is that he didn't wanna kill a weak old man. "Disappointing.", he likely thought.

Vader wanted him to suffer, not kill him outright. He wanted to beat Obi-Wan at his best, not weak like this, to prove that he (Vader/Anakin) is better than his former master. Leia show her Force power in that she can tell when Ben is really telling the truth (empathic) and when he is hiding something. Also with her cousin, she can feel without other input. It's ok to be emotional, very powerful scene. If you use the Force then I think some can detect it. (Like Goku you can probably suppress your power to a point). Using the Force is still a skill, Ben at this time is still out of practice.

Vader wanted to get revenge, he wanted to make obi-wan suffer, his aim is to only kill him when he no longer feels joy from his suffering. At the moment his rage is tempered, if he were to get angry at obi-wan he would stop holding back. Also Obi-wan still hasn’t fully tapped back into the force, he’s not much better then a young king right now. Vader wants to defeat the obi-wan he knew, Obi-wan the Jedi master, not Obi-wan the ptsd old man. There would be no accomplishment in beating him right now, he wants to prove he’s the best.

You kinda have to suspend your disbelief a bit to enjoy this series IMO. People have come up with their own theories as to why Vader just essentially let Obi-Wan run away, but the only one that really makes any sense is simply that they needed to in order to create a stronger link to where the movies pick up in Episode IV. The next episode is sort of similar in this regard, but the last two are awesome. Worth sticking with it.

Vader could of literally walked through the fire because his suit can handle pretty much anything. They said that he didn’t do anything because Obi wan to weak for him and he wanted to face him at full strength but it’s just bad writing IMO

Star Wars TV shows, Rogue One, and the cartoons have a LOT of questionable, drawn out moments that make no sense, like letting Obi-Wan go. I love the nine films, but I usually leave it at that!

That’s the problem with Disney Star Wars, none of it makes sense!

Stef, I’m coming here after a long time to see if your videos have improved, and they have! No more looking to the left and asking that person questions, which really disengaged the audience. Now your talking to the person behind the camera and it is engaging your audience, even though you don’t look directly into the camera. All your questions and reactions are being shown and that’s what we want. But still, I can’t understand why you chose Kenobi to react to? Pretty much no one created reaction videos to this mess. It’s a stupid show, and your questions are relevant but there are no answers for them. This is called “plot holes.” And this show is riddled with them. It’s pretty much unanimous that Kenobi is probably the worst Disney show ever.

This series is 6 hours of my life that I will never get back. Kenobi isn't even the main character, in his own series. Garbage.

The whole fire wall was incredibly ridiculous weak writing and just another flaw in the series.
